According to his obit, he was an early settler of Collin County, and the first teacher in the old Womble school house. He died about 02 Dec 1908 and his obit appears in the McKinney Democrat (p 3) on 10 Dec 1908. The obit states that he died in Farmersville and was buried in the Verona Cemetery. While visiting that cemetery earlier this year, I walked the entire cememtery but did not locate a stone for him. I contacted the cemetery, and they said that records from that time were destroyed in a fire, so they don't have any idea where his grave might be located. They stated that many early graves were marked with wooden markers, which have deteriorated over the years. Does anyone have any ideas where I might proceed from here? I thought maybe there are some other sources that I might contact about the grave location. Thanks for any info or direction!
