I read this posting on the Collin Texas list. The Griffin surname caught my attention. My great-grandmother, Sallie Lerzine Matilda (GRIFFIN) Roberts was born 24 November 1848 in Tennessee, married Ben H. ROBERTS, 25 Jul 1864 in Gallatin, Sumner County, TN. The family migrated through IL, KY, & AR before arriving in TX in the late 1800s. I believe she and other members of the family were in Falls County, TX in the late 1890s and early 1900s before moving to Collin County, where she died 5 Jun 1929. It occurred to me that she may have moved to Collin County to be near relatives following the death or her daughter. Her son, Walter Lee ROBERTS died in Melissa,Collin County, 21 Oct 1962.
