Unfortunately, I do not live in the Dallas area, so I cannot help in that area. However, I can provide the following text from the Evans book on your family, which should help. The format is probably messed up by the copy/paste. Also, please forgive any typos as this was scanned and I cannot promise that I have removed all of the OCR errors. Poole Family I. Seth Pettypoole, lived in Lunenburg County, Va. He made a will, June 23, 1789, probated Aug. 1789, recorded in book 2, page 124, Oxford, Granville County, N.C. He was in the Revolutionary War, signed the Oath of Allegiance, May 22, 1778, recorded in North Carolina Colonial Records, Vol. 22, page 178. He married Mary, whose name is signed to a deed, May 11, 1762, recorded in book E, page 246, Oxford, Granville County, N.C. Seth Pettypoole and his son, Seth Jr., are listed as tithers in, "Sunlight on the Southsidell by Bell, from 1748 to 1783, Lunenburg County, Va. Children: William Pettypoole John Pettypoole Elizabeth Pettypoole Mary Pettypoole Seth Pettypoole, Jr. (Called him Ty) Young Pettypoole Jesse Pettypoole Jane Pettypoole Nancy Pettypoole Sarah Pettypoole Phillip Pettypoole, m. Ann Winfrey, April 7, 1808, recorded in Granville County, N.C. Clayborn Pettypoole II. Phillip Pettypoole, son of Seth Pettypoole that made a will, June 23, 1789, hi married Ann Winfrey, April 7, 1808, recorded in Granville County, N.C. Children: Pendleton Pettypoole, contracted T. B., rode horse back to Mississippi to live with his brother, Seth, and died there. Claiborn Pettypoole, went to Georgia John Pettypoole Phillip Pettypoole, married I-Ialkon-1, they had Alice who married Crump, and lived in West Point, Miss., Alice had a daughter, Effie Crump. Seth Pettypoole, very rich, no children Martha Pettypoole, married Hopkins, lived in N.Y. Kerrenhappuch Pettypoole (Kerau), m. James W. Beaver, he was born 1814, died 1909. Children: Mary Frances Beaver, m. Gentry Ida Beaver, m. Wiley, West Point, Miss. John Randolph Beaver, born 1863 John Randolph Beaver, b., 1863, m. Carrie L. Smith, 1884. She was bom 1862. Children: Charles Washington Beaver, born Oct. 1885 Robert Bernard Beaver, born June 3, 1888 Eunice Beaver, born 1891 Jessie Cary Beaver, born 1898 John Randolph Beaver, Jr., b., 1903 Wilhelmenia Beaver, born 1905 Robert Bernard Beaver, born June 3, 1888, m. Effie Lee Smith, Jan. 30, 1909, she was b., July 27, 1890. He was Mayor of Farmersville, Texas in 1943. Children: Troy Lee Beaver, b., June 12, 1912 Jack W. Beaver, b., Aug. 13, 1913 Robert Bernard Beaver, Jr., b., Junu 19, 1923 Eugenia Beaver, b., Sept. 29, 1927 Vivian Sue Beaver, b., May 24, 1931 William Pettypoole, b., 1814, died 1886, age 72 years III. William Poole (Billie), (son of Phillip Pettypoole), b., April 3, 1817, d., May 24, 1887. (They dropped the Petty from their name in the next generation), married first, Miss Mary Elkerson, 1838, m. 2nd, Emily (Millie) Davie, March 17, 1844, m. 3rd Mary Ashburn Davie, Nov. 1, 1850, a sister of Millie Davie. Mary Davie was b., 1827, d., 1921, 94 years old. They had a brother, William R. Davie, the father of Capt. G.J. Davie, and a sister Margaret Davie who married Robert Deepcreek Bumpass. Mr. Nelson of Farmersville, Texas who had a mattress factory, is responsible for the following story. He said, Mr. Jim Poole told him that William, his father, always kept gold money and never would spend it. So one day when the family was away he took the old negro slave that would not take his freedom, and had him to bore holes in the large block at the back door, that was used for a water shelf where they washed their hands and kept drinking water; this block was a section of a large tree, William told the negro that he was boring the holes to keep the block from decaying. The negro forgot the incident. After William's death, they looked every where for the gold, but could not find it, till one'day 'Clairborn the father of Tom Poole of Nevada, Texas, and the old negro slave were in the field working, suddenly the old negro said, "Mossie Clairborn, I knows where the gold is, it is in the wash block, I helped old Mossie bore the holes to put the gold in but didn't know that was what it was for." They went to the house and pulled out the wooden pegs and found that the block was full of $20 gold pieces. (Betty) Elizabeth Ellington, Nov. 19, 1865, d., Between 1880 and 1885, Collin Co., Tex., she was b., about 1846, d., in Collin Co., Tex. He enlisted in the Confederate Army when 18 yrs. old, served 3 yrs. Then deserted and got married then moved to Texas. Children: Lorena, Ella, William, James, Margaret, Luther W., and John John Poole (son of James Henry Poole), b., June 9, 1880, Copeville, Collin CO., Texas, d., Jan. 13, 1959, m. Julia Berphal Hampton, Sept. 12, 1901. She was born, Feb. 20, 1886. Children: Nolah Fay Poole, b., March 23, 1903, Jones County, Tex. John Milton Poole, b., Feb. 12., 1909, Abilene, Taylor Co., Tex. John Wesley Poole, b., Feb. 18, 1913, Abilene, Taylor Co., Tex. Lawrence Wade Poole, b., May 1, 1921, Abilene, Taylor Co., Tex. Children by Emily (Millie) Davie: Susan Poole, b., 1845, m. Bob Sanford Margaret Victoria Poole, b., 1847, N.C., m. She died 1883 in child birth, buried in Holloway Cemetery, N.C., he married 2nd, Mary Stokes. Children by Lucy: Child born dead, 1878 Minnie Gray Poole, b., 1879, d., June 16, 1912, Person County, N.C. m. J.T. O'Brian, Children by 1st wife: Victor O'Brian, b., Jan. 10, 1903 Lucile O'Brian, b., July 19, 1906, Virgilinia, N.C. John Thomas O'Brian, b., Dec. 24, 1908, died 1912 Ruby O'Brian, b., Sept. 9, 1910, Danville, Va. Phillip Mathew O'Brian, died 1912 William Thomas Poole (Tom), b., June 27, 1881, d., Oct. 13, 1957, buried in Nevada Cemetery, m. Fannie Love Harris, Jan. 28, 1928, Nevada, Tex. She was born March 16, 1878, Quitman, Ark., d., Dec. 24, 1951, buried in Nevada Cemetery. His pallbearers were Money Vaughan, Andy Poole, a second cousin, Orval Davis, Hubert Smith (Potsy), Ray Pharr and Bill Martin. Child born dead, 1883. George Washington Poole (son of William Poole), born Nov. 25, 1855, N.C. died May 28, 1941, buried in Nevada Cemetery, married Alabama Bryant, Oct. 8, 1882. She was born Feb. 14, 1867, Nevada, Tex., d., June 15, 1960. He was a merchant and farmer; converted under Kilgore's preaching, 1898, in a tent meeting on the school ground, and joined the Methodist Church. Mrs. Poole made many trips to Dallas in a wagon, always camping at White Rock Creek, On one of these trips she saw the first railroad train come into Dallas. She also saw the first train come into Farmersville, Tex. This train was called the "East Line". (Her parents were James Ervin Bryant and Theodocia Elizabeth Yeager. Children: Henry Talmadge Poole, born Feb. 5, 1886, Nevada, Tex. Three children died in infancy. George Washington Poole, Jr., born Aug. 11, 1901, Nevada, Tex. Henry Talmadge Poole, born Feb. 5, 1886, Nevada, Tex., died Feb. 16, 1954, buried in Nevada Cemetery, converted at a Baptist protracted meeting under the preaching of Rev. Finney, who was helping the pastor hold a meeting under a tent on the church lawn about 1912. He was a Methodist and a farmer. He married Zula-Dunn, Dec. 26, 1926, McKinney, Tex. She.was a Baptist, and a school teacher. Child: Jane Poole, born Nov, 13, 1932, McKinney, Tex., finished Nevada High school May 16, 1950, and has a degree from State Teachers College, Denton, Tex. George Washington Poole, Jr., born Aug. 11, 1901., Nevada, Texas, m. Mary Germany, Sept. 3, 1927, Dallas, Tex. She was born March 4, 1904, Grand Saline, Tex. They were Methodist. Children: George Washington Poole III, born Aug. 4, 1928, Nevada, Tex. He was a Methodist, preacher in New Orleans, La. d., in 1964 or 1965, Chicago, Ill. Infant born dead, 1930, Dallas, Tex.
