Hi Ray, Sorry to hear you're not part of our George family. My husband's greatgrandfather was Joseph G. George and he lived in Plano, TX in the latter part of 1800's and moved to Indian Territory to the part that is now Jackson Co., OK. He did have other family living in Plano and Farmersville area and one son, Louis Dudley was living there in 1910. May still be George's in that area. Thanks for answering and Good Luck to you on your research. Pat McAlpine ----- Original Message ----- From: Ray D. No, my George family is not related to yours. My ggrandfather was, Joseph L. George (Yorg) & his wife was Rebecca Jane Thompson. They lived just northwest of Blue Ridge. Joseph had other siblings; however, they all stayed in Wisconsin &/or Kansas. > > Where did your George family live in Collin County? By the way, Joseph was the only member of his family to get his name changed---when he enlisted in the Army for the Civil War; his surname was misspelled or changed from Yorg to George. Actually, they probably had difficulty understanding his German/English speech. He just left it George. > > Thanks for the inquiry. Happy hunting! Take care, Ray George > >
