Even tho I will not be able to be there at the dedication, I strongly support anything that has to do with the old courthouse or anything of historical significance - my family name is McKinney, and we have been searching for years to see if any of the family actually was related to "The" Collin McKinney, as it has been handed down for years that we are. I do have ties there as well, my great/great grandfather was Samuel McKinney who lived in Blue Ridge, with his wife Virginia. Also, one of my great/great/great (however many back) grandfathers was George Washington Smith who fought with the Frontier Rangers and also fought in the Battle of San Jacinto, and also with Fannin at Goliad. I have strong ties to McKinney, even though I have never lived there. I just wanted you to know that I'm with you in spirit, if not in body. Thanks for letting everyone know about this.
