I have much of what Bill HAYS' book revealed, but it is very nice to have the confirmation. As for Evie's mother being Harriet, I haven't made that connection. I was told by a fellow researcher that it was Nathan's daughter who was named Ida who married a LOKEY and I've never been able to confirm that. I had seen the Wylie Collin Co TX 1900 census page of which you write, but it seemed a bit garbled with the PERRY name and the LOKEY name scratched out. The birth date for the Ida mentioned is June 1875 (even that is written over, so could be 1874), and the second daughter of Nathan A. W. PERRY and Ellen O. HOUSE was born around that time frame. The 1880 Census for them was difficult to read and it could be that one of the initials could have been an "I." for Ida. So, is this Ida in Harriet's house her daughter, or a daughter-in-law? The marriage being 7 years fits for it actually being James Willis PERRY's wife, "Ida" KINSON, since their 8th anniversary wouldn't be u! ntil August. Question is: Where the heck is James Willis PERRY if his wife is in Harriet's household? Where are all her two daughters (Eva Lillian PERRY, b. 31 Aug 1894; and Clara D., b. 27 Jan 1897?) I will investigate Harriet as best I can, as it's a fresh angle I haven't tried to make fit for Ida's lineage. As for what ever became of Nathan, his wife Ellen, and what were the names of his daughters, I probably will never know. I do know, however, that Nathan's parents were James Willis and Elizabeth PERRY, primarily of Maury Co., TN, although they were married in Hardin Co., and lived in Lawrence county for a spell. This James Willis PERRY (for whom his grandson by son Nathan was named) died in 1859. He and his wife had several children who relocated to Texas: *Julia Ann Elizabeth Emily PERRY md Henry Clay MACK *William Marcellus W. PERRY md Mattie Elizabeth WATTS *Nathan A. W. PERRY md Ellen O. HOUSE *Marquis de Lafayette PERRY md Catherine Alice PERRY (a cousin) *Lucy W. PERRY md Burton Alexander RENFRO (these were the parents of Walter A. RENFRO who married Damia D ROBERTSON, but he died early and Damia married his first cousin, James Willis after "Ida" KINSON passed away) *Sarah Etta Estelle PERRY md Calvin Lee MACK The fate of Nathan and Ellen and their children have been a big mystery to me, especially with the loss of the 1890 census and the 1900 for Collin Co being in such illegible shape. Perhaps this Harriet connection will at least begin to resolve the mystery of Ida's heritage. How did you determine that Harriet was a KINSON before being identified as a LOKEY? Who was Harriet's spouse? Aurora, thank you for all your hard work in researching this PERRY dilemma. I genuinely appreciate it!! Gratefully yours, Laura
