    1. [TXCOLL-N-L] Birth and death records
    2. Hello everyone, I have received two requests recently for the address of the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics, so I thought I would pass it along to everyone on the list. Texas Birth and death are $11 and $9 respectively. Write to Bureau of Vital Statistics, Texas Dept. of Health, 1100 W. 49th Street, Austin, TX 78756. For other states' vital statistics addresses, check "The Handybook for Genealogists" or "Redbook." The books with vital statistics contents also have these addresses. You might also like to read my weekly genealogy columns in the Plano, (Collin Co.,Texas) Star Courier. Last week's column addresses the change in Texas birth and death indexes. The Ft. Worth Star Telegram Virtual Texan website has a booklet for beginners, a military series, links to major Texas sites as well as for other states, software manufacturers, national and regional lineage and professional societies, etc. This weeks column announces the Morman LDS Church's official Family Search data base on line. Remember the one put online in April was a beta test version? This is the real thing and also still continues to be difficult to access. Visit Family Search and fill in the blanks with your ancestors’ information on a ‘card catalog’ looking form at <http://www.familysearch.org/>. Have fun!
