Mitchell b.in the 1850s who left MS with his mother, Margaret Ann (McDow) Mitchell and other family members after 1870. He had a nephew, Sam Mitchell, who had a blacksmith shop in Fannin Co. who left at the same time. He also had a half brother, William H. MCDow and wife Lucinda Ann(Sanders) McDow in Collin Co TX during this period. He received a summons to return to Monroe Co Ms by Nov 1878 for the settlement of his fathers estate( George Washington Mitchell) who had died in 1862 during the Civil War.
