    1. [TXCOLL-N] Re: Historic Collin County Calendar for 2000!
    2. HISTORIC CALENDAR: Just in time for Christmas, county historian Joy Gough has designed a historic Collin County calendar for the millennium. Gough included pictures of the county's namesake, the Roller House at Ave. O and 15th St.; Plano Masonic Lodge No. 768 chartered December 5, 1894; the old First Baptist Church building; Interurban #362 at the Plano Station, the J.W. Shepard Mule Barn on East 14th Street in Plano, and the Plano School that burned in 1924, etc. It includes historic events for every day of the year 2000, i.e.: the first resolution to suspend school for Thanksgiving in Plano on November 10, 1896; George Henry Herndon born on November 14, 1846, reported to be the first white male born in the county; the first sidewalks authorized to be constructed in Plano on 21 November 1883; William Beverly family arrived in Plano on 28 November 1846. This calendar is a wonderful holiday gift for family, friends, clients and those researching Collin County, and it is tax deductible because Gough donated the proceeds of the sales to Genealogy Friends to enhance the collection of the Gladys Harrington Library Genealogy Section. Phone orders 972-238-0702. Genealogy Friends, PO Box 860477, Plano, TX 75086-0477. $10 plus $2 sh&h.
