"Other county schools started before the Civil War. One of first was near Westminister and was called Martin Box and was established in 1860 Another began at Walnut Grove in 1856 and was known as Swayback....." [In 1937-08-09 it was called Walnut Grove School. I know this because my mother taught 1 through 6 grades there and Mrs Crank taught 7 through 11 or 12 there. I went to the 4th grade there. Mr Cooper Mr Martin and Mr Malone were trustees for the school.]
