Hello Tom Mantooth. I saw your post about the Mantooth name and I have a little information that might interest you. I grew up in Melissa TX, about 5 miles north of McKinney and the Doctor in town was named J.T. Mantooth (1876-1953) He is buried in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, intersection of Hwy 121, Hwy 5 and Industrial/Eldorado Blvd. His home in Melissa is at the sorthwest corner of Hwy 5 and Main or Central St. I remember Dr. Mantooth from my early childhood and didn't enjoy it a bit when he sewed up my knee. Dr Mantooth's daughter, Johnnie (I think that was her given name) married George Madden and they had a son named John who attended Melissa and McKinney schools as I did. Did you know that the name Mantooth is a Seminole Indian name? Good luck in your search and contact me if you have questions. Mitzi Hammond Perkins Tom Mantooth wrote: > Minnie, > > I am Tommy J.
