C. Reese and S. E. Hogge obtained a license to marry on 20 December 1881. They were married on 23 December 1881 by E.(?)S. Haynes. The record does not show whether Mr. Haynes was a Justice of the Peace or a Minister of the Gospel. The Texas Death Index shows: R. C. Reese died June 12, 1922 (Certificate # 16583) Sarah E. Reese died January 25, 1932 (Certificate # 959) They are both also listed in the Obituary Index. I will try to get copies of their obituaries for you. Sarah's listing shows that her name is Sarah Elizabeth Hogge Reese, rather than Sarah Ellen. GeneoMom@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. August 4, 1873 just east of Packsaddle Mountain was the last indian fight in Texas. I believe Packsaddle Mountain is in Llano County. I have a massive book on Depredations by Indians in Texas. Parker County was the worst hit county in the 1850s by indian depredations. My great grandfather, John Danzy Sheen, was involved in an indian raid in the area of Brown County in 1869 (Present day Coleman County). The Gray family in Cherokee, San Saba county, would not keep their horses in that county, but kept them in Williamson Co, due to the indian raids to steal horses and this may have continued into the 1870s.
