I also found some of the same information in a rather round about way. Minnie's obituary didn't reveal much, but I found an obit for her younger brother, Joel T. "Joe" Shepherd. He died on February 24, 1912 of "Cerebro Spinal Meningitis" at the age of 15. Information listed: Parents: Daniel W. Shepherd and Lucy J. Shepherd Siblings: Three brothers and fours sisters George Walter Ray Mrs. Fred "Grisham" Henrietta Cecil Ida "The deceased boy was born in Wilson County, Tennessee but came to Collin County with his parents four years ago." The 1910 Census shows the order of birth as: Cecil, 17; Ida, 15; Joel, 13; Henrietta, 10; Walter 7; and George, 5 Minnie, having been born in Aug. of 1890, would have been 21 at the time of Joel's death. Ray would have to be the oldest or the youngest. Having trouble finding them in 1920. Collin County Marriage Records (on microfilm) show that Minnie Shepherd and F. P. Gresham were married in Collin County on March 17, 1910. I also found marriage records for G. H. Gresham and Grace Matlock and Otis Quinn Gresham and Alma Corene King. AND Obituaries for George H. I tried a different search angle & clicked on Family Trees instead of Historical Records when searching for Minnie, & one of the people who had set up a tree used the surname Stonecipher. Well, I'd been looking for a Rachel StonePFEIFFER as Minnie's mother or grandmother, but as soon as I corrected the spelling, everything started to fall into place! I now have Minnie's parents & maternal grandparents, and, I think, all of her siblings (7). I am really jazzed about this. Turns out my memory isn't as terrible as I thought: I had most of the names correct, just a bit out of sequence ... which can make a HUGE difference as you know. Anyway, I'm still plugging away at this, gaining a little ground every day. Michele Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It's a mystery what happened to her. I've been in contact with a couple of people in Lincoln & Wilkes Counties, GA regarding the Glazes & Greshams, and I'm sure there is still quite a lot of family there, so possibly it's just a matter of tracking _them_ down to learn where and when Susan ended up. I have another loose end where I'm hitting a wall: Minnie Lee Shepherd Gresham. Although her maiden name is listed as Shepperd or Sheppard on some records I've recently seen, the family spelled it Shepherd, and I located her sister Irene Shepherd Hanks today with the correct spelling. What I can't find are any of the 3 brothers I knew she had, OR her parents. I've been all over the parts of Ancestry.com that I can get to (the free parts) and RootsWeb, with no luck. I think another factor involved is that while Minnie (who I think was the oldest of the children) was born in TN, I'm pretty sure the family moved to AR, or maybe TX after her birth, and maybe I'm not searching correctly? And suggestions on the best way to go here? Thanks! Michele Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Minnie Lee Gresham was born Minnie Lee Shepperd/Sheppard in Lebanon, TN. Although there were at least 3 other siblings whose names I know in the family, I think the reason I'm having trouble finding them at all is because of the differences in spelling the last name, plus my own inexperience in doing productive research.
