    1. [TXCOLL-N-L] Tilley, Marr, Williams
    2. Charlsie Scott
    3. My g/grandfather John Lowery TILLEY and son, George W. TILLEY left Ashe Co, NC in 1890 and came to Sherman, TX by rail prospecting for a home and land in this area. John L. went back to NC, but my grandfather (20 years old at that time) stayed and went to work at a hotel near the depot in Sherman. The hotel was run by Joseph A. MARR's widow, Lucinda Jane and her children. George married the daughter Mary Elizabeth MARR in 1892 at Van Alstyne. They once lived on the C. T. "Tom" TATUM farm. At one time, he was a delivery man for a flour mill, Farmersville Mill & Light Co. They resided in Collin Co. for 54 years. George died at his home in Vernona, Collin Co, and he and his wife are buried in the Verona Cemetery. We are researching the TILLEY - MARR - WILLIAMS - SHIPTON - WOLFE families in Collin and Grayson Counties. Both Joseph A. MARR and Lucinda Jane had been married previously and Joseph had a total of 21 children with 3 wives, but we have not gotten all the info on them, as yet. Lucinda's child by a previous marriage was: John W. WILLIAMS, and children of Joseph and Lucinda: Annie who married a SHIPTON, Alice who married a WOLFE, and Lena who married a WOODS. Sorry, Denise, I did not intend to make this so long, but I sure need some help trying to fill in all these gaps and blanks! Would love to share any and all info I have to anyone who is researching these lines. Charlsie Tilley Scott cscott1@flash.net

    1. [TXCOLL-N-L] 'Pinky" Boyett, TX 1895
    2. I am researching my greatgrandfather, "Pinky" Boyett. He came to Texas about 1895 to pick cotton. He brought his two daughters with him. He got in a fight with some mexicans and they cut his throat while his daughters watched. They called him "Red" and he perferred "Pinky". He was supposedly killed at Sipe Springs, in Commanche Co., TX. and his body was being returned to Arkansas, but was buried in or near McKinney, TX. I heard at one time that there was a Sipe Springs near McKinney, but cannot verify that now. I wonder if that is why he was buried near McKinney. I would like to locate the burial place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill Baker wib0415@aol.com
