    1. [TXCOLL-N-L] Rickman
    2. I have been looking for my great grandmother Milvinia Rickman born 1860 MS to no avail for years now. I believe her father moved the family to Texas (Collin) for a time and that relatives still live in the area. She has half siblings (I believe) of Miller and Moore. Is anyone researching the RICKMAN name? Robie

    1. Vervalin, Reynolds
    2. Judith Mayfield
    3. I'm trying to find anyone who knows more about these two families. What I know is: Jedediah Vervalin b ca 1804 in NY married Anna ? (maybe Barber) Children: Kezia b ca 1834 d 1914 buried in Needmore Cemetery Collin Co TX Frederick b ca 1834 d 15 July 1852 Morris, Otsego Co. NY buried in Quaker Cemetery Malinda Rachel b ca 1835 Betsey b ca 1836 m Lewis Bennett Martia b ca 1840 d 13 April 1915 buried BlueGrove Cemetery, Clay Co. TX Jedediah A. (or Judson) b 16 Mar 1842 d 17 June 1928 buried Royse City Cemetery, Rockwall Co. TX Kezia and Rachel married brothers Egbert and Cornelius Reynolds. Egbert is buried in Needmore Cemetery with Kezia. Rachel and Cornelius had 2 children: Louis Eugene and Waty Ann. Waty Ann married my g-grandfather, William Caswell "Cas" Douglas. Martia married Waty Ann's father-in-law John Douglas. Kezia and Egbert had the following children: Frederick b ca 1854 in NY Nathaniel b ca 1856 NY Emery b 1858 NY married Almedia Trout 18 May 1882 Hunt Co (in the 1860 NY census Emery is listed as Emily!!!) Charles b ca 1867 NY Minnie b ca 1871 TN m W.H.H. Younger 7 Oct 1889 Hunt Co TX ( I have a photo of Waty Ann and Minnie) The mystery is: How did these families wind up in Texas, and what happened to Jedediah sr, Anna, Rachel, and Cornelius? In 1870, all these families were living in Crossville, Cumberland Co TN. In 1880, Kezia's family, Jedediah jr, Martia, and Rachel's children were living in TX. There are no Vervalins or Reynolds listed in the cemetery in Crossville. Cornelius shows up in the 1880 census in Crossville, while his children are in TX. The only family stories I know are that Rachel died in childbirth and Martia raised her children, and that Minnie married one of "the" Younger brothers (I doubt this). Sorry to go on so long but, as you can see this is a convoluted family. Thanks Judith Douglas Mayfield Pearland, TX

Many of our representatives are online, and it would only take a moment to copy their e-mail addresses into your address books. The Kentucky Legislature Home Page is: http://www.lrc.state.ky.us/home.html. Each State Senator and Representative for your district will be listed, with their home addresses, and in most cases, their e-mail addresses. I suspect that some of you are even now attempting to haunt your representatives with similar requests. If not, please consider contacting your reps now. --part1_f5a7286f.24436238_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <CCCPC-return-55-1785665@listbot.com> Received: from rly-yb02.mx.aol.com (rly-yb02.mail.aol.com [172.18.146.2]) by air-yb04.mail.aol.com (v59.4) with SMTP; Fri, 09 Apr 1999 15:14:39 -0400 Received: from lbmail2.linkexchange.com (lbmail2.linkexchange.com [216.32.177.247]) by rly-yb02.mx.aol.com (8.8.8/8.8.5/AOL-4.0.0) with SMTP id PAA16006 for <Susiwood@aol.com>; Fri, 9 Apr 1999 15:14:37 -0400 (EDT) Received: (qmail 15829 invoked by uid 100); 9 Apr 1999 19:14:58 -0000 Mailing-List: ListBot mailing list contact CCCPC-help@listbot.com Delivered-To: mailing list CCCPC@listbot.com Received: (qmail 23068 invoked from network); 9 Apr 1999 19:14:29 -0000 Received: from mtiwmhc04.worldnet.att.net (204.127.131.39) by www61.linkexchange.com with SMTP; 9 Apr 1999 19:14:29 -0000 Received: from lois ([12.75.201.30]) by mtiwmhc04.worldnet.att.net (InterMail v03.02.07 118 124) with SMTP id <19990409191351.JTWA21216@lois> for <CCCPC@listbot.com>; Fri, 9 Apr 1999 19:13:51 +0000 Message-ID: <005501be82bd$ac578800$5b84fea9@lois> Reply-To: "Lois Mauk" <LawOfficeInformationSystem@worldnet.att.net> From: "Lois Mauk" <LawOfficeInformationSystem@worldnet.att.net> To: "CCCPC" <CCCPC@listbot.com> Subject: Next Stop for HB 1522 -- Execution by the Governor Date: Fri, 9 Apr 1999 15:17:48 -0400 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.1 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Clark County Cemetery Preservation Committee - http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/5881 As you know, the single "cemetery protection" bill (out of 10 proposed) to survive the 1999 Indiana General Assembly session was House Bill 1522. HB 1522 passed the House several weeks ago and, earlier this week, it passed the Senate. The vote was 49-0 (there are 50 State Senators), so the vote was practically unanimous. I just received word that Rep. Markt Lytle (author of House Bill 1522) was aware of the Senate's amendments to HB 1522 and supported them being added in the Senate. Yesterday, he was to file a "concurrence" on the bill. (This is done when the bill's author is in agreement with the legislation in its current form.) As such, the next step is Governor O'Bannon signing it. This Bill will soon be signed into law. Further action will being studied this summer in the Natural Resources' summer study committee, details on which are forthcoming. I am SO pleased and proud that we've been successful in persuading the Legislature to pass this Bill. Though it falls short of accomplishing all of our goals, it remains an important and historic first step in the right direction. When HB 1522 is enacted, it will make it "illegal" to damage, deface or destroy any gravestone or cemetery marker, whether it is on public or private property and it will REMOVE the exemption previously granted to anyone involved in "any form of agriculture" to obliterate all visible signs of a cemetery. There are other provisions as well; further details at http://www.rootsweb.com/~inpcrp , which I will try to update tonight to reflect today's good news. Thanks to all of you for all your efforts and good wishes. I am so proud of all of you for everything you've done here in Indiana and elsewhere and genuinely appreciate the support you've given to this effort. 2. My husband's third great-grandparents, Collin S. TARPLEY and his wife Nancy Jane WILKINS, came to Collin Co. from Muhlenberg Co., KY, about 1860. Their children, born in Ky and in Collin Co. were Anne F. (m. John T. GRAHAM), Sarah Emma (m. William W. HAYS), Joseph S. (m. Ola U. NICHOLS), Mary Jane (m. At the same time Nancy Jane's parents, the Rev. Samuel M. WILKINS and his wife Eliza Ann MARTIN, came to Collin Co. also. The Rev. Mr. Wilkins was a merchant and also an early minister of the Corinth Presbyterian Church in Parker. At least some of their other children came to TX with them: Ellington Montgomery (m. Paralee C. However, by 1870 they were also in Collin Co., and John was serving as assessor of taxes. Their other children were Parthenia B. (m. John Franklin WILKINS above), William M. (m. Augusta James NEWTON), John, Jr., (m. Elizabeth S. HAMILTON), Sarah Elizabeth (m. Edward Ballinger DISHMAN), Samuel Sanders (m. Martha Jane "Jennie" SMITH). By 1870 John Tarpley's brother, Dr. Joseph Bell TARPLEY, a physician, had moved to Collin Co. from MS with his wife GeorgeAnna Hull LAKE. Their children were Robert Perry, Joseph Alfred (m. Emma Louise BILLINGSLEY), Mary Lucretia (m. James Monroe LOVELACE), Anna Jeannette (m. James P. SMITH), Sterling Lake (m. Mary Frances SHRADER), Ella Georgia (m. (1)?
