Has anyone heard of Jefferson Day or Harrison Stanford in Collin Co. Allen
I have been told that John Wesley Hardin was in Collin county for a while (even if he passed thru, he would have left his mark). He was born in Fannin and was his cousins the Dixon's were living in Collin and even some of the Hardins. Anybody out there have any information on John Wesley Hardin? Did he hang out with your ancestors? Denise Your ListMom

The Mantooths are a noted family in the Altoga. There are many stories of Dr. Mantooth. John and Elizabeth are covered in Vol II. The museum has information on Dr. Mantooth in its section on Altoga. Rosanne, I got your email address from the TXCOLL list. My name is Tommy J Mantooth and my family was born around and in Altoga,TX. I was wondering if I call the number you listed for the book on families if they would provide me with information on whither my family is covered. I know that my father was born in Altoga,TX but have not been able to find and thing on him. He was John Willis Mantooth born to William Mantooth and Nancy Swafford. Would they tell me it he is listed in the book. If I can find that the data is available I would but the book. Thanks, Tom

Roseann: Isaw your offer to do lookups in the above book and wondered if I could bother you to look for entries for David and Lydia Doyle and their daughter and her husband Susan Doyle Muncy and John J Muncy. They came to Collin Co from Lee Co VA in the late 1860's. If there is enough pertinent information, I'll try to get the book on interlibrary loan. Thanks very much for any help you can give me.
