    1. [TXCOLL-N] Farmersville Cemetery
    2. Alan Lamb
    3. Is there a cemetery in the Farmersville area? If so has it been transcribed? I would like very much to know if my ggrandparents Rev. James Carroll Bumpass and Emily Bumpass are buried there. Also, are there other Bumpass/as/us families buried there? What other cemeteries are in that general area? Thanks for any help given. Carolyn Bumpus/as Lamb

Well in Collin County the Genealogy Friends group supports the Genealogy Section of Plano's Gladys Harrington Library and educate the patrons of Collin County. This Wednesday, they are giving to Gladys Harrington Library the entire 1820 US Federal Census on CD-ROM--a historical first as past census have been only on microfilm. Past donations last year were the complete U.S. census for 1790, 1800, 1810 plus other significant donations. They volunteer weekly to help the patrons with their research; hold quarterly Library Lock-ins; offer free Saturday Morning Seminars every third Saturday of the month except October. 2. We had a problem with a cemetery down in Tenn and I had a funeral director reply to my post. It is illegal to destroy cemeteries. Contact a local funeral director and tell them what's going on and ask what the laws are. They will know what to do. Carolyn

    1. [TXCOLL-N] NOBLE CEMETERY
    2. Hi, all. There is an old cemetery in Collin County named Noble Cemetery. It is located in the countryside northwest of McKinney. It is small, is located in some trees in a cornfield, and hasn't been cared for until lately when it seems someone has been doing some clearing and erecting new headstones. I am happy to see that. My question is this: The land the cemetery is on seems to have been sold and is being developed. Does anyone know what steps are being taken to protect the cemetery, and what the new landowner is required by law to do to protect the cemetery? Thanks, S. M. 2. I have been a lurker for quite a while. My gg grandmother Mary Bowen (Whaley) Gay died there ca 1870/1880. She was living with her son Edgar and his family, although she sometimes was with her daughter, Sarah E.T. Gay HILL in Lawrence Co MO. They did not move to Collin Co until after 1860, but I am curious if there are any Bowens, Corbitts, Whaleys, Brattens or Gays there in 1860. I am trying to figure out if Edgar moved there to live with his parents relatives from DeKalb Co TN (Bowens, Whaleys, Gays, Corbitts, Brattens). Edgar moved there from Lawrence Co MO. Thanks in advance. Janet Hunter....other Texas names (Gonzales Co area), Hunter, Kennedy, McGinty, Davis, Rayburn...Choates, always Choates.
