HUNTER, Jane Coffey Dec. 2, 1878 -- Aug. 1, 1962 The Hunter's and Coffey's lived in the same area and intermarried quite a bit. Thought I'd better include her in case she is part of your line. HUNTER, Luther T. June 24, 1878 -- Aug. 8, 1970 HUNTER, Oran E. Jan. 19, 1891 -- June 3, 1953 I know Luther belongs to John and Mary Frances. Wasn't sure about Oran. Also, I found these listings in the Collin County Obituary Index: John Wilson Hunter, Mrs. Mary F. Hunter, Luther Hunter, and James Eber Hunter..child. Don't know why he isn't in the cemetery with them. I'll do some more searching for you. I can get copies of these obits for you, but I'll need to go up to McKinney. Our library has the index but not the microfilm. I do this all the time. I could have them for you next week if you would like. No charge. You may e-mail me directly if you want: [email protected] Sincerely, Judy

It is sometimes referred to as Forest Grove cemetery because it sits behind the Forest Grove Christian Church. But, the proper name is Fitzhugh. The area around the cemetery was known as Fitzhugh Mills. The family who donated the land once had a mill just east of the cemetery. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Collin County. It is very large, covering at least ten acres and is still active. There is a historical marker provided by the Forest Grove Church congregation. Judy

BELL, J.T. (son J.T. & E.G.)...Aug. 1, 1897 -- May 29, 1900 The 1897 date may be a typo in the book or a mistake on the tombstone. The cemetery is in southeast McKinney. It is very large, fenced, with over 2,000 graves. It has been the main cemetery for McKinney since 1870. Judy
J.T. Bell is buried in the Pecan Grove Cemetery, which is one of the older cemeteries in Collin Co. However, his birth date is one year different in this book. It says born Aug 1, 1897, died May 29, 1900. J.T. Bell, (son--J.T. and E. G.) so he was not quite three years old if these dates in the book are correct. There are several other bells in the same cemetery who I thought might be related. They are on the same page. I will include them here: Bettie G. Bell, b. 1875, died 1965 Cora E. Thompson Bell, born Jan. 10, 1884, died Sept. 23, 1908 I. Vivian Bell, no dates listed J. Todd ell, born 1851, died 1931 Lillian F. Bell (Wife--W.S. Grant) Lottie M. Bell, born 1884, died 1892 Maud Johnson Bell, (wife--E.M.) born Nov 29. 1883, died Jan. 1. 1919 Sue H. Bell, born 1855, died 1933 I found this in the book Collin County Texas Cemetery Inscriptions Volume 1, page 308. This book was published in 1973, compiled by Pitts, O'Rourke and Posey, and is still for sale. If you are interested in buying it, write to Mrs. Minnie Pitts Champ at [email protected] or check her website at www.collincountybooks.com for more information about purchasing. There is a small Volume II also I believe. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2005 12:20 PM Subject: [TXCOLLIN-N] J. T.
