Her mother Harriett Kinson married Richard L Harper in 1877 in Collin county and Mary, George, Nellie and Charley, then married a Lakey and had several more kids, Lakey and Permelia and is wd in 1900. Harriett died Dec 29 1924 and is bur in Wylie Cemetery. Ida Perry is buried in Wylie Cemetery June 15 1874 - Mar 6 1905. 3. James married Damia Robison Renfro in 1905, her daughter Essie was the same age as Clara. Essie's father died before she was born. In 1910 James and Damia list Eva, Essie, Clara, and Willis born before 1905 and Velta, born in 1905 and Willie and Rubie born after 1905.

You said that the book indicates three children. I only have record of two. Does the book elaborate? I am still trying to find info on Velta's mother, who died giving birth to her. The marriage license supposedly lists the woman's name as Evie KINSON. In other sources, she's listed as Ida. There was a KINSON clan which passed through Collin at about the time of Ida / Evie KINSON's marriage (7 Aug 1892) to James Willis PERRY (father of Velta). That KINSON clan was headed by Edward KINSON who later settled in Hood Co., TX. The only daughter of his that could be a match is one called Jane KINSON. If this book by Bill HAYS has any info on Velta's folks, I would be very interested. I also never found the fate of Velta's grandparents, Nathan A. W. PERRY and Ellen O. HOUSE PERRY. Their daughter, Lulu, died of measles in the Buckner Orphanage in 1888 and her obit stated that she was survived by a father and brother and a sister. The brother was James Willis PERRY, but who was the sister? So many PERRY mysteries. By the way, I have Robert L. LESTER's folks as Lewis LESTER and Elizabeth SCOTT. Best Wishes! Laura

Your grandmother probably filed for a delayed record of birth in her later years if she wanted to file for "old age pension" now known as SS. A record of birth was required to do so. I have one grandmother who was born in 1890 and she did not file for a record of her birth until the 1960's. She had to find two people who could attest to the fact that they knew who her parents were and that she indeed had been born in the county she filed in to these people. You need to call/write the courthouse and see if they will check for a delayed record. If she moved from Collin county she also could have filed in county of residence when/if she filed. Paula
