This long -running family war includes the surnames you have listed. They were all related, many being cousins. If you are related to them, then you are also related to John Wesley Hardin. He's a cousin, too! Good luck with your search. R

The old Pleasant Grove Methodist Church used to be located there, but has since moved. I do not live in Dallas County so I can't help with the search. However, the Dallas Genealogical Society has inventoried the Dallas Cemeteries, so they might help you. Good luck!

It has been a few years since I was in the area, so the cemetery could have been renamed. Check a current Dallas map or contact one of the Dallas funeral homes. Hope this heads you in the right direction. Good luck!

Isaac Walker and his family migrated to Collin County TX from Claiborne Co Tennessee after the Civil War and remained there through his death in 1914. He was a brother to my 2nd great grandfather, and I am trying to prove his Confederate service, but there were lots of Isaac Walkers in Tennessee regiments and I need a paper trail. I don’t find him in the on-line index of Confederate pensions for Collin County. Was there a Confederate Veterans organization in the area, and if so do their records still exist? He is buried at Cottage Hill Cemetery near Celina. Is there a local SCV or UDC chapter that marks the Confederate graves there? He might even have a Confederate stone, for all I know. An obituary might help, but all I know is that he died in 1914. I looked at the LDS catalogue on line for microfilm of a local newspaper, but didn’t find one. He's in Collin Co in the 1910 census, with "CA" written in the box for Civil War service. Any leads will be appreciated. Nancy Cassada Nelson Bordentown NJ

I would really appreciate help on locating a daughter of John C. Fowler b. @1818 KY & Olivia Heath Fowler b. @1824 KY or IN. They moved to a different State for every Census between 1850 & 1880 so it has really been difficult tracking this family. They had the following children: Rachel Ellen Fowler b. @1843 MO D. William Fowler b. @1845 MO (my line) Isabella Fowler b. @1850 MO Mary "Mollie" Ann Fowler b. @1855 Collin Co., TX Martha Olivia Fowler b. @ 1862 - 1868 Dallas, TX This family not only varies in age on Census records but in place of birth (sometimes showing last State of residence) and sometimes suddenly begins using a middle name (or first name that I had not known about). I only located Isabella Fowler b. @1850 MO on ONE Census & it was in Denton Co., Stewart Creek, TX 1860 but I know that Mary "Mollie" Ann Fowler was born in Collin Co., TX 1855 & the youngest girl was born in Dallas, TX (from their Death Certificates). I know that Ellen Fowler married Cornelius Lewis Mar 17, 1861 in Collin Co., TX. Then on Feb. 24, 1863 on the Collin Co., TX Probate Minutes Vol A-1 it shows the estate of Cornelius Lewis. Then on July 5, 1865 she married Nelson Crowder Cogdell in Collin Co., TX using the name Rachel Lewis. I thought that maybe Isabella Fowler had married in the area also because she is not with her parents on the 1870 Newton Co., MO Census. I have never been able to locate a marriage for her but I know her family jumped around so much I am afraid I have overlooked a move? I also wondered if Isabella Fowler born 1850 MO may have died between 1860-1870? I know this family of Fowler was very close to the Aunt of Olivia Heath Fowler, Olivia Heath Gray b. 1799 KY, who was married to Joseph Ross Gray. They had lived near one another in Saline Co., MO 1850 then appear to have traveled to TX together where the Gray family settled in Denton Co., TX & Olivia Heath Gray died @1866 in Denton Co., TX I would really appreciate hearing from you if you have a Fowler girl who married 1860-1870 who may have been my Isabella Fowler. I pretty well know what became of all the siblings except this one. Thank you for taking the time to read this & I hope you will contact me if you have any information that might help me with this Fowler family that seemed to hop around like fleas on a dog.
