I dont have the year so it could be either Elizabeth. However the 1910 census lists wife as Lizzie and she doesnt show up on the 1920 so I think its Jane E. I have a list of unclaimed original marriage licenses with only names and file numbers. Our society has published marriages up to Oct 1894. Farmersville IOOF Cemetery lists UG Litten 1872-1947 Jane E 1874-1919 Sara Elizabeth 1875-1940 and Sara Ann 1858-1928 As for the census, both 1910 and 1920 are really hard to read. {1. ----irl (fe) b. ca. 1900 Tx. }1910 gives middle initial B, 1920 indexes girl as Alfred {2. I have a detailed roll and have been working to come up with a valid 6th TX Cav Rgt roster that is complete with deaths in battle and from old age. Basically I have been working with Companies I, K which are units my GGF and his brother were PVTs. Company I was a Sharpshooter Company and came from the Dallas area. Company K was from the McKinney area and had just returned from Ranger duty when it mustered into the 6th. My kin were Rangers with Capt Throckmorton of Company K, and were later transfered to Company I. The I Company commander became the commander of an ad hoc battalion of two plus companies of Sharpshooters. For Corinth they were attached to Col Ras Stirman's Sharpshooter Regiment of Phifer's Brigade in Muary's Division. They are shown deployed as a line Infantry regiment in that battle, but they were trained and ready as skirmishers and sharpshooters. It is highly likely that Stirman's regime! nt, one Arkansas regiment and the 6th TX were part of the push that almost cost the Union their victory. Had two of Rosecarn's Divisions not arrived at late in the day of the second day these southern troops would have over run Gen Rosecarn's Headquarters. My kin were in the middle of it and my GGF broke his arm and was captured the next day at Hatchie Bridge as Van Dorn's Army retreated. Of course I assemilate all data I can get to get a clearer picture of my GGF. I hope to put together a 6th Web page with links that would show, all companies, their headquarters & locations during the war and piece together a complete battle history as far as I can get it. May even find someone who wants to write it all up. My writing style is to military. At this time I have data on A, B, C and H and some data on I. I have the Hill College 6th History and one from the National archives. Fromm Bell, Kaufman, VanZant I have rosters and some burial data. Will get more as I go along. Anything You might as would be appreciated.
