Hi, You'all: Saw Dawn's request for each of us to give a little run-down on our 'roots' - I am researching WALLACE, JOHNSON, PATTON & NICHOLAS Families. My one request to this Site garnered me more than I could have expected -Dawn, you are more than ONE little site deserves! And BrotherTerry is a True Find! Anyway, I can't add much to the WALLACE line in earlier times, but can bring it forward on one small leg. My Mother, Thelma Modell JOHNSON, b. 18 Apr 1897, d. 19 Sep 1987, was the middle daughter of Margaret Ellen WALLACE, of the M. M. WALLACE Family. Mom died in Jacksboro, Tx. I have one sibling, Lurlene Patton CRAVER, born 27 Nov 1920, now living in Pinehurst, NC. Lurlene has two boys, David Ray, b. 1950 & John Austin, b 1952. I have 3 issues, Lee Anne Patton RUSSELL, b. 7 Aug 1957, who has 2 girls, Erin Patton, b. 10 Oct 1988, & Shannon Griffith, b. 8 Jan 1990. I have 2 sons, Michael Carl, b. 10 Jun 1959 & John Martin, b. 10 Jun 1959 (Yes! Twins)borned in Berlin, Germany. Guess I better get in there: Frederick Carl PATTON, b. 30 Jun 1925. We have brought the WALLACE line back to NC - think they left Mecklenberg County in early 1800's - hope to be more positive soon. I am new started in this search, so bear with me - I'll learn as I go (I hope). I have the JOHNSON Clan from Illinois to Texas (wagon train 1874), settling in Wise County, Tx. The NICOLAS & PATTON Clans both came from Mississippi to Texas, but have little info on them prior to their arrival in Jack County, Tx. Am willing to share with those seeking info on these folks, plus, would welcome any imput you might have for me. Your "Coleman County & Its People", edited by Ralph Terry, probably has more on the WALLACE Clan than I have - am awaiting a chance to see it. Enough monopolizing for now! Am very glad to be a contributing part of the Site! Pat....:>)) Good hunting to all!! <fpatton@ibm.net>
