He married Nancy Ann JOHNSON in 1849 in Dallas Co., AR. She was b. in 1832 in AL, the daughter of John and Elizabeth JOHNSON of Dallas or Ouachita Co., AR. Asher and Nancy were found in Calhoun Co. in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, and by 1868 were in Davis/Cass Co., TX. The 1870 census lists "Asker" and Nancy with 4 children: Louiza J., age 16 b. AR (m. 1)Flippin, 2)W.H. Shelby) Alfonzo 10 b. AR (m. 1)Pellum, 2)Mary Jane Stocking) Mary D. (Dove) 2 b. TX (m. J.H. Shelby, 1893) Annie (Sarah Ann) 6 mo. b. TX (m. M. R. Stocking, 1891) Also in the household, William Morgan, age 18, b. TX. Who was he? The next child born was my g-grandfather, Perry Asher Walker, in 1875. Were they still in Cass at that time?
