    1. Re: [TXCASS-L] Fw: [WESTEX-ROOTS-L] NCCP, ACLU, Racism, Conferancy issues.
    2. This message is a terrible political ploy, and should not be on this list. I agree that states have a right to honor their heritage, and I am upset about the SC flag being replaced and the TX plaques in consideration of being taken down, but anyone with a half a memory remebers Gore screaming the words, "It [the SC flag] must come down!" On the other hand, Bush, as all good Republicans would, simply said it is a states' rights issue and should be voted on by the state. He took all kinds of hell from ethnic groups for not criticizing the state of SC and he said that the TX plaques "would be taken down IF THE STATE'S CITIZENS VOTE TO DO SO." That last part conveniently was left off the previous message. As for the comments about the NAACP and ACLU creating more tension and being unreasonable, I agree wholeheartedly, but this is not a forum for political issues. In the future, I would prefer not to see a forum for my special interests [genealogy] being tainted by special [political] interests. I am sorry if I have offended anyone with my views, but I was stunned to see a message with a political agenda on this list. If you have a reply to my email, please send directly to me so we can get this off the list. Thank you, Jeff R.
