Surnames: JONES, ALLEN, PEVY/PEEVY, SHOWS, SORRELS/SORRELLS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JhB.2ACE/1109 Message Board Post: Hello to the all the kind, friendly people I met last August when my daughter, grandsons and I attended our first Homecoming for Floyd's Hill Church, held at the Red Hill community center. My great uncle, Robert Isaac Jones, his wife Elenor, and their family were members there and several of them are buried in that cemetery. I had been looking for this family "somewhere in TX" for almost 40 years and was so excited to find out last year where they settled after leaving Jackson parish, LA about 1881. This family was another of the many who originated in GA and moved to Cass county. Is there another Homecoming planned for 2005? My health has been a disaster during the year so I doubt I'll be able to attend, but would so love to. Best to all of you, Janell

Surnames: Parrish Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JhB.2ACE/1108 Message Board Post: JOHNSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA 15904-1219 PHONE 814-266-6855 E-MAIL jtr@floodcity.net 07/07/2005 There are erroneous reports out on the web about the parentage of Joshua Parrish. His place of birth and parentage are not known and some people on the web are stating unsubstantiated facts about this. I am trying to inform here. Latter Day Saints and Ancestry.com have it incorrect as well. It is not likely that John Parrish and Sarah Belt are his parents because they are married in Huntingdon Co., PA in 1800 and Joshua was born in 1770. Joshua is not the the son of William as some state either because they are missing a generation of descendants according to the well documented book on Parrishes by Scott Lee Boyd. Those who are showing his parents have not done their homework on this. They are just posting errors that are circulating as fact.

Martha "Milly" PITTS and Rev. David Monroe SIMMONS had, among other children, Lura Ann "Lu" SIMMONS, born 26 Oct 1844, Anderson Dist., SC, who married Augustus Alonzo "Tob" MITCHELL on 3 May 1871 in Cass Co, TX. I didn't have the death dates for either Lu or Tob, but had been told they died after 1920, not before. I suspect your death dates are correct. I have no children listed for the couple, but I don't guarentee that is correct. Jerri
