They were listed as Elisha CRISP and Nancy Jane STRAWN. I am wondering if they would have been required to live in Cass Co. in order to get married there. I wonder if perhaps at least one of them was living in Arkansas or Louisiana. I have been trying to find out where they lived before, during, and after their marriage. (I am not 100% sure that I have the right couple.) I do not find them again anywhere until 1870 in Llano Co., TX. E. CRISP is living w/out a wife and with several children, the oldest of whom would have been born @1853. I find Nancy Jane CRISP on the 1870 Fed. Mortality Index. Any observations on where to look next would be appreciated.

Guess I'll wait for Ancestry.com to catch up. I know Cass County is a large county with many possibilities. I can hardly wait. Sometimes, as I've seen on other county registrations cards -- the information asked for was a little different -- a few had in reference to a question that asked "Who is your nearest relative? " Some would put down a name, whether it is a wife or a mother, etc., was not determined unless additional info was entered. I recognized some of the names, others I will have to dig deeper to find out what relationship they are. On "race:, the clerk was asked or the person was asked to cross out all that do not apply, when it would have been simpler to circle the race of the person. Interesting how far we've come in information gathering. Have a great genealogy day, CDoutherd

I found one "Oscar Hodge", who was too young to be registered, but right age to be registered for WW II draft. The list could be a composite of both draft registrations. Just a thought. CDoutherd

If these are WWII registrants, is it possible to change the heading on the document itself and add the publication date so confusion is reduced? Thanks, Jerri

The cards the other lady asked about in the query are the registration cards that were done 1917-1918 for WWI and are on microfilm (available at FHCs) and are currently being added to Ancestry.com. Additionally, my grandfather (b. 1913) and great uncle (b. 1916) are listed in this listing and they were not old enough to have registered for WWI. Dana

I just checked and they don't have Cass County at Ancestry yet. I do know that you did have to resister even if you were a farmer and then that was put on the form and the government took it from there as to your exempt status.
