He is my great-great-uncle. He was born in England and came to the States to see his mother's hommeland. He liked it so much, he settled in Texas. His mother was Martha W. Ward, from around Jefferson, Texas (her mother was a Lockett). She met Sills Clifford Gibbons, from England, while he was on a hunting trip with friends. They married, but at the end of the 1850's, Sills took his family back to England. I don't know who Hornsby married, but my grandmother (his neice) visited Hornsby's widow once in Atlanta, Texas. We assume he is buried in or near Atlanta, but we may be wrong. I would like to find any information possible. My email address is [email protected] Any and all information is deeply appreciated.
