GLORIA MARTINEZ SALVIDE Gloria Martinez Salvide, 68, a resident of Corpus Christi, went to be with our Lord on June 17, 2006. Gloria, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was surrounded by family at the time of her departure. She was preceded in death by her father Feliberto Martinez and mother Dora Martinez; sister, Juanita Martinez; son, Ricardo Salvide. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jose N. Salvide; five children, Sara Salvide of Corpus Christi, Joe L. (Genny) Salvide of Sugarland, Texas, Dora E. Sal-vide of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rosie S. (Tim) Morales of Corpus Christi; Annabelle S. (Raymond) Cosme of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren, Selena, Natalie, Erika, Lucas and Julio Salvide of Sugarland, Texas; Daniella and Eric Morales of Corpus Christi; Jacob and Brianna Cosme of Corpus Christi; one brother, Braulio (Tola) Martinez; one sister, Isabel Martinez; two nieces, Melis sa Martinez and Marissa Collins, all of Saginaw, Texas. Gloria was born in Monte Alto, Texas and lived in Brownsville, Texas until 1999 when she moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to her family. She worked 26 years for Brownsville Manufacturing (Haggar Slacks). She took great pride in her family and friends and the fact that she was able to attend college and travel around the world. She always made her family smile with the vivid and outra-geous outfits she loved to wear so much. Gloria lived every day to the fullest and fought a courageous battle against cancer. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but find comfort and tranquility in that she's resting in peace. The family would like to thank the following: Odyssey Hospice Care for their understanding and much needed help during our trying time. To the entire staff of Bay Area Dialysis especially to Ms. Cindy, Ms. Mary, Ms. Beverly and to fun loving Eli. Thank you for making our mother feel special during a very hard time in her life. To Dr. Cohn, Dr. Ramirez, Dr. Kline - thank you for the care given to our mother over the past several years. A heartfelt thanks to Ms. Baci, a very special angel sent to take care of our mother. How can we begin to express how much you mean to us. The love, joy, and tenderness you brought to our mother and family over the last four and a half years can never be repaid. The sacrifices you and your family made to help us and to please our mother will never be forgotten. A simple thank you does not seem to be enough, but from the bottom of our hearts we extend our gratitude and sincere appreciation. May God Continue to bless you and your family. You will always be in our hearts and be an extension of our family. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2006, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Morales, Raymond Cosme, Walter Cuvillier, Gilbert "Sonny" Cortez, Larry Cavazos and Andy Vasquez.
