DOLORES TREVINO BARRIENTES Dolores Treviño Barrientes, answered the call of our Lord on June 12, 2006, surrounded by her loved ones. She was and will forever be our most prized treasure. Dolores was married to Pedro Barrientes for 35 years raising a family of five sons and four daughters. Dolores was known for her cheerful disposition and optimism. She was blessed with good health enabling her to bear her children at home and to treat any illnesses with herbs she grew. She worked many years at United Foods and after working the night shift she walked home singing. She was a strong believer in miracles and was blessed with many during her life. She had strong convictions and her life was lived with the belief that God will take care of all things and that every event has a purpose. Dolores, or Lolita as all who knew her, was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro and her beloved daughter and friend, Rafaelita Reyna and a grandson, Carlos Reyna Jr. Even during the tremendous loss of her loved ones she stated the Lord gives and the Lord takes. She is survived by her sons, Pedro (Petra), Sergio (Ruth), Reynaldo, Jose Jorge (Chela), and Alfredo (Alicia); her daugh-ters, Rosalinda (Vito) Guerra, Irma (Scott) Sherman, and Dolores Esperanza. She is also survived by a sister, Maria Gal-indo; a brother, Adan T. Treviño; a son-in-law, Carlos Reyna Sr., and a granddaughter, Minerva Barrientes whom she raised as a daughter. She will also be missed by 23 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Her daughter, Dolores Esparza and her children, Erica and Alex were the angels on earth who cared for her during her last years. Her son-in-law, Scott was the son who showered her with love and care as he held her hand to walk and finally pushed her wheelchair. Dolores was an avid walker able to walk to Matamoros and back up to the age of 85. Although her walk got slower and her mind less clear, she continued to praise the Lord. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Funer-aria Del Angel Buena Vista. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be, Irma Sherman, Scott Sherman, Roger Reyna, Jorge Barrientes, Ruben Reyna, and Alex Esparza. Honorary pallbearers will be Sergio Barrientes, Alfredo Barrientes, Vito Guerra, Bill Anderson and Pete Barrientes.
