Mr. Salazar was born on April 30, 1924, in Tampico, Tamps, Mexico, to Severiano Salazar and Rafaela Salas de Salazar who preceded him in death. Left to mourn his death and forever cherish his memory is his loving family, wife Maria Del Robles Salazar; 11 children, Florentino (Adelaida) Salazar, Jaime Salazar, Silvano (Blanca) Salazar, Juan Antonio (Pricilla), Juana (Juan Francisco) Mares, Maria Del Los Santos (Martin) Jerez, Margarita (Alberto) Almeida, Maria Del Socorro (Manuel) Carrillo, Concepcion Salazar, Rita (Edward) Alaniz and Maria Del Jesus (Oscar) Calderon; 20 grandchildren, Juan Gerardo, Juliana, Hugo, Citlaly, Cynthia, Delia, Nathaly, Aide, Eduardo, Alejandro, Jesse, Kathy, Diana, Marieh, Oriana, Martin, Keyla, Emily, Rogelio and Braulio; and Jesus Trevino and family (whom he raised as his own) and numerous other relatives. Visitations were held on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Guerra Funeral Home. A chapel funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Guerra Funeral Home Chapel of the Holy Family with interment to follow at San Pedro Cemetery. Jose "Texas Joe" Hernandez Jr., 49, entered into eternal rest with Our Lord, Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Irma E. Hernandez; two daughters, Laura Lee of Brownsville and Rosa Maria of Houston; two sons, Jose Manuel of New Orleans and Jacob Oro of Houston.
