The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition Obituaries - June 16, 2006 LEONARDO SOLIS Leonardo Solis, 86, a native and lifelong resident of Brownsville, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Aurora Monterrubio and several brothers and sisters. Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Flora Solis; three sons, Octaviano (Gloria), Leonardo Jr. (Martha L.), both of San Benito, Texas and Jaime Solis of Brownsville; two daughters, Nora E. Solis from San Benito, and Dalia Solis (Alfredo) Cavazos from St. Augustine, Fla.; his grandchildren, Gustavo E. Solis, Sofia Barrientos, Leonardo D. Solis, Aaron J. Cavazos, Valerie J. Solis, Amanda M. Cavazos, and Octaviano Solis Jr. In addition, he is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Joaquin, Karina, and Emmanuel Perales; one brother, Amando Solis and one sister Francisca Pozos both of Mexico. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. today, Friday, June 16, 2006, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church in Olmito. Interment will follow the Mass at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville. Honored to be serving as Mr. Solis' pallbearers are, Octaviano Solis, Leonardo Solis, Jaime Solis, Freddy Cavazos, Gustavo E. Solis, Aaron Joseph Cavazos, Leonardo Daniel Solis, and Octaviano Solis Jr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, TX. (956) 546-7111. MACARIO GARCIA Macario Garcia, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. Mr. Garcia was born in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He resided in San Benito. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Josefa Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Enriqueta Garcia Casarez; children, Lidia Hernandez (Primitivo), Maria De Los Angeles Moreno (Felix), Maria Irene Arriola (Sabino), Gloria Garcia (Heriberto Rubio), Macario Garcia Jr. (Andrea), Maria Josefa Garcia (Alonzo), Francisco Garcia (Raquel), Hector Garcia (Micaela), Guadalupe Garcia (Sonia), Ricardo Garcia, and Flora Vasquez (Ricardo); siblings, Maria Guadalupe Garcia, Paula Aguilar, Maria Concepcion Gonzalez, Fidencia Garcia, Francisco Garcia, Roman Garcia Jr. and Ester Lopez; 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos.
