FAUSTINA BARRIOS Faustina Barrios, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. She was preceded in death by her father, Faustino Barrios. Faustina, is survived by her mother, Eugenia Barrios; her daughter, Alicia Garcia; brothers, Antonio (Antonia) Barrios and Rafael Barrios; her sisters, Juanita Barrios, Tomasa (Alfredo) Fernandez, Guadalupe (Feliciano) Alvarado, Rita (Ernesto) Garcia, Cleofas (Salvador) Amaro, and Maria (Guadalupe) Limon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Castro, 69, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2006 at Valley Regional Medi-cal Center. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest love were her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cristobal and Margarita Hinojosa Cisneros and by a son, Javier Castro. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Francisco Castro; a son, Cesar (Rosie) Castro; two daugh-ters, Sonia (Juan) Alonso and Elsa Castro; a brother, Noe Cisneros; three sisters, Irma Cisneros, Evange-lina Martinez and Juanita C. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Dolores Q. Zapata; parents, Roberto Manuel Zapata and Maria Alicia Hernandez de Zapata; his sisters and brothers, Jesse, Roberto, Antonia, Teresa, Elvira, Rosario, and Aurora Zapata and Santos, Maria Luisa, Rigoberto Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews. JOHN FRANCIS John Francis, 67, passed away today, March 17, 2006 at Valley Regional Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in Mexico Missions for 30 years. John served his country as a captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and flew many missions over Vietnam. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joe I. Treviño, Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 E. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511. SGT. RUBEN GUAJARDO JR. Sgt. Ruben Guajardo, Jr. entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2006. Sgt. Guajardo was born on September 19, 1982 to Ruben A. and Maria Guajardo in Brownsville, Texas. He joined the Army in June 2001 and was stationed in Ft. Steward, Georgia. He was deployed twice to Iraq as a medic. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Josephina Cisneros-Gracia; cousin, Marisela Ramirez; uncle, Jesus A. Guajardo. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ruben A. and Maria Guajardo; sister, Cynthia Guajardo; brother, Leroy Guajardo; his paternal grandparents, Tomas S. and Adela A. Guajardo; maternal grandfa-ther, Napoleon Gracia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. CONSUELO DELAUNAY COCHRAN Consuelo Delaunay Cochran passed away on March 11, 2006 after a brief illness. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 3, 1916, to Edouard and Sophia Geronima Delaunay. Consuelo was a life-long resident of the Valley. She left Brownsville just before the outbreak of World War II to work in California. While there, she met Garnet Buckley Cochran and they were married in Richmond a short time later. Both were associ-ated with Standard Oil of California, and upon Buck's retirement from the company, they traveled the U.S. extensively before settling in Los Fresnos. They enjoyed painting, and encouraged all their nieces and nephews to do so as well. Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Buck as well as her brother, Dieudonne and sister, Lydia. She leaves behind two brothers, Albert and Hector Delaunay and a sister, Alice Shugert of El Paso, Texas, as well as numerous extended family. A rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Darling Mouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be David Gerard Delaunay, Enrique Rodriguez, Pedro Gonzalez, Joshua Gonzalez, David Boyd and David Soto.
