JOHN ALTON GLOOR John Alton Gloor, 50, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 20, 2006, in Brownsville, Texas. He was a loving husband and wonderful father. John was a prominent Brownsville native and a graduate of Brownsville High School and continued his education at St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. He was a past member of the Brownsville Jaycees and the Board of Directors of Coastal Banc. He is currently a member of the Lower Valley Builders and Developers Association, and was most recently appointed to serve on the city's Capital Improvements Advisory Committee. Gloor Development was instrumental in creating many Brownsville subdivisions. Most recent projects include Cross Country Trails and Mission Trails. His proudest accomplishment was the Woods Subdivision in north Brownsville. His other passion was music and guitars. He had an extensive music collection. He loved playing his guitar and was in the local band Deja Blues. He was also an avid collector and trader of vintage guitars. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton V.W. Gloor. John is survived by his loving wife Catherine; two daughters, Ashley and Chelsey; his mother, June Gloor; two brothers, Les (wife Chris) and Len (wife Brenda), all of Brownsville, and sister, Ruth Jamail (husband Brandon) of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday April 25th at 2 p.m. at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.
