OBITUARIES JOSE ANGEL 'CHUY' RIVERA JR. Jose Angel "Chuy" Rivera Jr., 65, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 3, 2006 in Brownsville, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Angel Rivera Sr. in October of 1977, and a brother, Salvador Rivera in April of 2005. Mr. Rivera is survived by his loving mother, Maria S. Rivera; sons and daughters Rene Rivera, Rosie Rivera of Brownsville, Texas, Robert Rivera, Michelle Beltran, both of Salinas, Calif.; a brother, Roberto Rivera of Brownsville; sisters Eloisa Juarez (Benito), Gracie R. Blanco (John) and Norma Robinson; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. RODOLFO HERNANDEZ Rodolfo Hernandez, 69, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 4, 2006. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brownsville, Texas. Rodolfo was preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo and Angela Hernandez. He is survived by his wife, Rosa N. Hernandez; two sons, Rudy Hernandez Jr. and Rafael Hernandez; two daughters, Rosalva Hendrix and Raquel Bautista; one brother, Roberto Hernandez; four sisters, Elida Castro, Gloria Rodriguez, Estela Diaz and Elvia Hernandez; seven grandchildren, Roxanne, Rina, Alexandria and Jackie Hernandez, Crystal Hendrix and Brianna and Brandon Bautista. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives. RAMIRO GUERRERO Ramiro Guerrero, 76, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at Valley Regional Medical Center on Monday, April 3, 2006. He was born in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, on August 30, 1929. His family includes his loving wife, Gregoria Guerrero of Brownsville; six sons, Eliseo Guerrero of Adrian, Michigan, Ramiro Guerrero Jr. of Plant City, Fla., Gilberto Guerrero and Juan Manuel Guerrero, both of Brownsville, Jesus Guerrero(+) of Plant City, Fla., and Joel Guerrero(+) of Brownsville; three daughters, San Juana Rodriguez of Brownsville, Carmen Gutierrez of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Susana Lara of Brownsville; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lucas Guerrero of H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, and a sister, Francisca Arreola of Brownsville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., (956) 546-7111. THELMA EVELYN DARLAND WEEKS Thelma Evelyn Darland Weeks passed away on April 2, 2006. She was born May 28, 1919, in Garrison, Iowa and was the daughter of John Abraham Darland and Eletha Evelyn Strait Darland. She attended elementary school in Garrison, Iowa; high school in Mt. Auburn, Iowa, where her parents had moved. She graduated in 1936. She went to Gates Business College in Waterloo, Iowa. After graduation, she moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa, where she met and married Charles E. Weeks in Sioux Falls, S.D., on August 12, 1939. In November 1940, they moved to Brownsville where Mr. Weeks was associated with Pan American Airways and Texas Southmost College. Before retiring from the banking business in 1984, Mrs. Weeks was active in Boy/Girl Scouts, March of Dimes and school system. She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and a sister; her daughter, Judith Evelyn on May 1, 1956; her husband, Charles on November 13, 1956; and a grandson, Matthew D Mungle on November 26, 1968. Mrs. Weeks is survived by three children, John and wife Sherry Weeks of Garden Grove, Calif., Susie W. Cole and husband Carl of Boulder City, Nev., and Sallie W. Dalton and husband Jerry of Deer Park, Texas. She is also survived by a brother, Richard Darland of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Donna Sullivan of Hemet, Calif.; four grandchildren, Chuck Weeks, David Cole, Jerry Mungle and Denise Wright; four great-grandchildren, Breanna, Davey, Dustin and Travis. Mrs. Weeks was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for 15 years. She was very active with the United Methodist Church Women. She will be sorely missed by her family and numerous friends Mom-you are sleeping in God's Keeping. There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Darling-Mouser Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2006, at First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Barajas, 32, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2006. Gina was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and nurse. She will be missed by all who she touched. Gina enjoyed spending time with her children and family. She especially loved Mexican food and was quite the joker. She was a very special loving mother to her dear children. She enjoyed country music and the company of her best friend, Kelly Smart. Some of her hobbies were shopping, travel and the outdoors with her family. Gina was a graduate of Davison High School of Michigan, Class of 1991,where she played on an all-girls football team. She was also a graduate of the Valley Baptist LVN program Class of 2003. She then went on to pursue her RN at the University of Texas at Brownsville. Gina worked in home health care in the Valley. She will be missed by family, coworkers, friends and her patients. Gina contributed to the Emergency Nursing Fund at Valley Baptist and was instrumental to the foundation. She truly enjoyed helping others. She is survived by her beloved husband of 11 years, Oscar Barajas of Los Fresnos; her beautiful children, Brandon (10) and Taylor (6); her mother, Virginia Glass Waterman of Los Fresnos; her father, William Waterman of Gainesville, Fla.; her sisters, Kathy O'Leary and Kay Travis; her brothers, Kristopher O'Leary, Kevin O'Leary (Tammie) and David Waterman, all of Flint, Mich. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Gina. A memorial viewing will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos on Thursday, April 6, 2006, from 12-4 p.m. Funeral arrangements are being directed by Thomae-Garza. DAVID G. HOUSE David G. House, 59, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at his home in Austin. He was born on October 1, 1946, in Refugio, Texas to Hazel and J.W. House Sr. David was a 1969 graduate of Texas A&M University and completed his master's degree there in 1973. His mother, father and one sister, Christine Dunn, preceded him in death. He is survived by his former spouse, Colleen; two daughters, Clancy and Elleen, and one son, Joseph, all of Louisiana; four sisters, Mary Ann Reed of Refugio, Texas, Susan House and Terry House of Alice, Texas, and Laura House Sharer of Freeport, Texas; three brothers, J.W. House Jr. of Brownsville, Martin House of Kingsland, Ga., and Lee House of Alice, Texas; one aunt, Wilma Cave of Sinton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
