HORACIO "LACHO" MARTINEZ Horacio "Lacho" Martinez, 71, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2006 at his residence. Lacho was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral and was the owner of Martinez Grocery for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Horacio Martinez; his wife, Hermila Cerda Martinez; his siblings, Ramiro Martinez, Roberto Martinez, Rolando Martinez and Paula Hamby. He is survived by his mother, Josefina M. Martinez; his son, Horacio Martinez III; his daughter, Blanca E. Martinez Vela (Joe) of Brownsville; his siblings, Arturo Martinez of McAllen, Texas, Jesus Martinez, Graciela Martinez of Brownsville, Palmira Conejo of Baytown, and Amalia Davis of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Joe Vela, Yvette Vela, Jacqueline M. Martinez and James Mathew Martinez. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today, Friday, March 24, 2006, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. WALTER EDWARD JOHNSON Walter Edward Johnson, 81, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2006 at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home. Mr. Johnson was a Navy Veteran of the World War II and served on the U.S.S. Reed. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Johnson; and a sister, Betty Shwager. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Johnson and a brother, Richard Johnson. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 24, 2006, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Treviño, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. Mrs. Treviño was born in Cadareyta de Jimenez Mexico. She was a life long resident of Brownsville and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eliseo Treviño and a son, Juan Velez. Survivors include her son, Francisco Treviño; Beatrice L. Mendoza; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Visitation will be held starting at 10 a.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Delta Chapel.
