OBITUARIES MARIA DE JESUS PEREZ, "NANA" Maria de Jesus Perez, "Nana," 95, born on March 16, 1911, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. She was a long time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lorenza Garcia; father, Jesus Garcia; her husband, Ursulo Perez; sons, Jesus Perez and Ursulo Perez Jr.; a brother, Guadalupe Garcia and a granddaughter, Maria Rosario Garcia. Ms. Perez is survived by her daughters, Maria Carmen Perez and Viviana Castorena, both from Brownsville; sons, Adolfo Perez of Houston, Texas, and Hector Salas of Brownsville, Texas. Among the survivors are four granddaughters, seven grandsons, 14 great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and three great-great grandsons. Visitation will be held today at 9 a.m.-9 p.m. April 17, 2006, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 155 E. Jefferson. Committal service to fol-low at Buena Vista Burial Park. GUADALUPE "PIN" SILVA Guadalupe "Pin" Silva, 54, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Valeriano Silva, Sr., and Sofia Torres Silva. Mr. Silva is survived by his loving wife, Maria Delia Silva; one daughter, Nancy Elaine Silva, both of Los Fresnos, Texas; three brothers, Santiago Silva, Valeriano Silva Jr. and Mateo Silva; two sisters, Magdalena (Raul) Gomez and Angie (Humberto) Chavez, all of Brownsville, Texas. Also surviving Mr. Silva are four nieces, four nephews and numerous other relativies. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Guadalupe "Pin" Silva and his uncle; Guadalupe "Lupe" Torres who passed away 35 minutes before "Pin" in Abilene, Texas on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 606 Ocean Blvd., Los Fresnos, TX.
