    3. The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition Obituaries, September 18, 2006 BABY MIGUEL ANGEL VELA, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. REBCA SOLEY, 80, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at her residence in Brownsville. JOSE ENRIQUE GARZA Jose Enrique Garza, 80 passed away at his Brownsville home on Sunday, September 17, 2006. The WW II Naval Veteran and long time Brownsville Savings and Loan Association employee was preceded in death by his father, Enrique Garza; his mother, Fernanda Sias Garza; his brother, Adolfo Garza; a son, Hector Garza and grandson, Jose Miguel Garza. He is sur-vived by his wife, Maria Olivia Garcia Garza; his son, Jose Enrique Garza Jr.; daughters, Sylvia Garcia, Diana Davidson, Gertrudis (Trudy) F. Zamora, Cynthia Y. Reyes, and Yvette Ochoa. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Fernando Garza, Reymundo Jesus Garza, Susano Garza, Fernando Garza, Marcos Garza, David Bruno Garza, Enrique Garza Jr., Noe Garza, Maria Ana Cortino, and Guadalupe Isabel Rojo. Jose has 16 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchil-dren. Visitation and viewing will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Brownsville. Interment will follow at the Buena Vista Park with military honors to be rendered by members of VFW Post 2035 Funeral Honor Guard under the direction of Commander Luis Lucio. Pallbearers will be Ruben Reyes II, Michael A. Reyes, Alfredo V. Garcia, Dominic P. Garcia, Alfredo V. Buitron, Jose E. Garza III, and Pablo Rubalcaba. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., (956)546-7111. MILDRED LUCILLE JOHNSON CARLSON Mildred Lucille Johnson Carlson went to be with the Lord on Aug. 30, 2006, at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home in Brownsville, Texas. Millie, as we lovingly called her, was born in Mount Hamhill, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1919. She was a member of Our Savior Lu-theran Church in Phoenix, Ariz., and attended First Baptist Church in Brownsville, Texas. She is survived by her sons Charles (Bobbie) Baldwin from Prescott Valley, Arizona and Richard (Frances) Baldwin from Brownsville, Texas. Also surviving her are grandchildren, Eric (Polly) Baldwin from Tempe, Arizona, Michon (Andrew) Calerman from Germany, Geoffrey (Michelle) Taber from Aurora, Colorado, Benjamin Baldwin from Austin, Texas and Jonathan Baldwin from Brownsville, Texas. Other survivors are her step-children Michael Carlson, Edward Carlson, Telle Jenifer and Charlene Gilland. Also surviving are one great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband James E. Baldwin and her second husband Wallace E. Carlson her brothers George, Charles and Clarence Johnson and sisters Dolly Frank, Cora Hagerla and Nellie Enke. She was a member of Eu'Cha-Rest Temple No. 68, Daughters of the Nile, Scottish Rite Temple at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As per her wishes Millie was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maquoketa, Iowa with inter-ment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were entrusted through Guerra Funeral Home, 3955 Coffee Port Rd., (956)544-1171. RANDA LADABAUM Randa Ladabaum, a non-smoker, passed away after a two and a half year battle with lung cancer, Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. She was a native of Houston, Texas and had lived in Brownsville most of her life. Over the years, Randa was involved with the West Brownsville Garden Club, League of Women Voters, past president and member of Haddasah Women Organization, member of Temple Beth-El Sisterhood, Brownsville Jaycees, March of Dimes volunteer, Brownie Troop Leader, and a thirty year volunteer at Brownsville Medical Center. Randa was a good friend to all she came in contact with over years. She especially loved her family, their dogs, and working in the garden. Randa is survived by her loving husband, Sammy Ladabaum of Brownsville; two daughters, Belinda Ladabaum (fiancé, Doug Tenore) of Corpus Christi and Gail Ladabaum of Austin and sister, Shirley Hainer of Virginia Beach, VA. In leiu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunshine Haven, Inc., P.O. Box 4478, Brownsville, TX 78523-4478. We especially want to thank all of the nurses aides, Martha Ingle, Beatrice Sanchez, Judy Orive and especially Sylvia Mejia who showed love and compassion to Randa. Committal Services will be held at the Brownsville City Cemetery-Hebrew Section located at Second and East Madison on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Joe I.
