JESUS VALDEZ LEYVA, 56, of Brownsville passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center- Brownsville. There will be no local services. Funeral services will be held at Capillas Del Jardin de la Paz in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas. Burial will follow at Panteon Santa Rosalia in Anahuac, Tamaulipas. Local arrangements under Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., (956) 546-7111. EPIGMENIO CRUZ, 91, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. He resided most of his life in Chicago. After retiring from the steel mills, he made Brownsville his home. Funeral arrangements are pending under Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 E. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511. JOSEFINA OCHOA, 63, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Sunshine Haven in Olmito. She was native of and a lifetime resident of Brownsville. FELIPE LEAL Felipe Leal, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at his residence in Brownsville, Texas. Mr. Leal had been a foster father for the past 16 years. Mr. Leal is preceded in death by his loving wife, Guadalupe Leal; brother Anastacio Leal; son-in-law Onecimo Esparza; grandson Robert Esparza; sisters Juanita Olvera and Clara Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren Angel and Alesse Lara. He is survived by his children, Frances (Alejandro) Gracia, Felipe Leal Jr., Celia Rios, Leticia (Shoaib) Moten, Carla Leal and Mary Leal; brothers Francisco Leal, Rafael Leal and Cruz Leal; sister Ezekia Leal; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, from noon to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden. Serving as pallbearers will be Onesimo Esparza Jr., Robert Rios Jr., Alejandro Gracia Jr., Armando Gracia, John Leal, Danny Leal and Ghaffar Moten. Honorary pallbearers will be Felipe Leal Jr. and Shoaib Moten.
