Renfrow of Brownsville announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Billie Merle, to Dale Glen Loop, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Loop, also of Brownsville. (Ebony Studio) article: MISS RENFROW'S ENGAGEMENT TOLD AT TEA ON SATURDAY A tea in the Ben Gabbert home, 4414 Boca Chica, hosted by Mrs. Gabbert and her daughter, Miss Patsy Gabbert, announced the engagement of Miss Billie Merle Renfrow and Dale Glen Loop. Receiving were Mrs. Gabbert and Miss Gabbert, Miss Renfro, her mother, Mrs. John L. Renfrow, and grandmother, Mrs. W. A. Renfrow, and Mrs. C. D. Loop, mother of the prospective bridegroom. PINK AND SILVER Decorations were in pink and silver with members of the houseparty wearing corsages of pink carnations tied with silver ribbons. The table laid with white organdy over satin, was centered with an arrangement of pink gladioli and silvered leaves, flanked by pink candles in crystal holders. The white cake was trimmed with a spray of leaves and the couple's names and the wedding date, all in pink. The wedding will be on April 14, in the First Baptist church. HOUSE PARTY In the houseparty were Mrs. W. C. Hooper, Mrs. Wayne Gobble, Mrs. R. W. DuBose, Mrs. W. W. Basden, Mrs. G. H. Loop, Mrs. L. F. Shreve, Mrs. Irvin Loop, Mrs. J. B. Kee, Mrs. Kenneth Loop and Mrs. Charles Bolton, who assisted in serving coffee and cake. Punch was served by Misses Doris Loop, Mickey Baldauf, Miss Coylene Damron was at the guest book.
