The Brownsville Herald - Online Edition OBITUARIES Obituaries, February 24, 2006 EUGENIO VILLARREAL DE LEON, 45, of Brownsville entered into eternal rest at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, under the direction of Funeraria Protecto Deco. Burial will be in Ejido La Gloria in Matamoros. Local arrangements were entrusted to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., (956) 546-7111. MARIA Z. DELGADO, 49, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Services have been entrusted to the care of Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors, (956) 399-1331. PORFIRIA G. ROCHA It is with great pain and sorrow that we release our beloved mother and grandmother, Porfiria G. Ro-cha, at the age of 75 years, into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville, Texas. She was born on March 30, 1930, to Perfecto Guajardo and Herlinda Garza Guajardo, who preceded her in death. Her husband, Julio Rocha; one grandson, Baby Boy Hinojosa; one sister, Elida Guajardo; and two brothers, Fidencio and Jose Guajardo; also preceded her in death. Mrs. Rocha was a compassionate, loving, caring and devoted Catholic who was always willing to help anyone who was in need. She enjoyed cooking and knitting for her family. She would knit booties for all her close family members. Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; her son, Joel Hinojosa Sr. and wife Gracie; her daugh-ter, San Juanita Rocha; two grandchildren, Joel Hinojosa Jr. and Christopher Hinojosa; three sisters, Esther Cepeda, Ramona Guajardo and Irma Guajardo; and numerous other relatives. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Febru-ary 23, 2006, at Guerra Funeral Home Chapel of Arch Angels. Deacon Felipe Treviño will be conducting the rosary. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. for a 1 p.m. funeral Mass today, Friday, February 24, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis. Father Jerry Franks will be officiat-ing. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be Joel Hinojosa Jr., Christopher Hinojosa, Gabriel Gonzalez, Jorge Guajardo, Javier Guajardo and Cesar Guajardo. CONSUELO 'CHELO' TREVINO ZAMORA DE PINTOR Consuelo "Chelo" Treviño Zamora de Pintor entered into eternal rest with the Lord on February 23, 2006. She was born in Huinala, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alberto Pintor; her beloved parents, Anselma Tre-viño de Zamora and Valentin Zamora; her brother, Roberto Zamora; and her sister, Rita Zamora de Jasso. She is survived by her only daughter, Pilar Gutierrez, and her son-in-law, Bill Gutierrez, who she loved like a son; her granddaughter, Denise Gutierrez of San Antonio; and her grandson, Bill Gutierrez (Kath-leen) of Bryan, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gracie, and Sofia Gutierrez, all of Bryan, Texas. As a woman, she was a risk taker, always happy, optimistic and enjoyed life to the fullest. She moved to Matamoros at the age of 2 years old. She was educated at Colegio Mexico and El Verbo Incarnado. At the young age of 14, she was the proud owner of a beauty salon in Matamoros. Because of her endeavors and persistence, she was very instrumental in implementing technology classes in cosmetology in the "prepa-ratorias" in Matamoros. She taught cosmetology at Juan Jose de la Garza Secundaria No. 1. She moved to Brownsville in 1956 in which she opened her beauty salon. Because she took pride in her work, she became well known throughout the community. Pansy Yturria, as well as other members of the family, became her customers. Because of the Yturria family and the many celebrities that visited them, she had the opportunity to style Ginger Rogers' hair, as well as provide make-up for a performance for Fred Astaire. Visitations will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, February 24, 2006, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Cremation services will follow with private services for the family. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2006, at United Methodist Church "El Buen Pastor," 435 Boca Chica Blvd. Funeral services have been entrusted to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, Texas, 78520, (956) 546-7111. MARIA D. ISAGUIRRE Maria D. Isaguirre, 38, entered into eternal rest on February 21, 2006, at M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Olga R. Martinez and Manuel Martinez. Maria participated most of her life in the East Brownsville Little League as a player, a coach and sup-porter for her family and friends. Nothing brought her more joy than the smell of barbecue and the sound of victory. She also recently was a dedicated employee of the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. She is survived by her husband, Rolando Izaguirre; children, Rolando Jr., Joshua, Debra, Karina, Kevin and Lucio, all of Brownsville, Texas; her brothers, Raul (Maria), and Manuel (Edna) Martinez; and sisters Melba (Larry) Torres and Amanda Martinez; grandmother Lucila Rodriguez; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., today, Friday, February 24, 2006, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Holy Family Catholic Church with internment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be, Rolando Izaguirre, Raul Martinez, Rolando Isaguirre Jr., Joshua Isa-guirre, Raul Martinez Jr., Manuel Martinez, Michael Torres and Larry Torres.
