Walker, 67, of Brownsville, died Friday in an auto accident on East 14th Street. A native of Devine, he had been a canal rider for the Brownville (sic) Irrigation and Drainage District for the past 23 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Portway Baptist Church of Brownsville. Survivors include his wife, Wynema B. Walker of Brownsville; two brothers, Pete Walker of Brownsville and Bernice Walker of San Benito; a sister, Hermie Ellis of Buchannan Lake, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denson Deavers officiating with interment at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Pete Walker Jr., Mike Walker, Jack Walker, Richard Walker, Dale Bullard and Dan Comer.
