JUAN JAIME "PIRI" PEREZ Juan Jaime 'Piri' Perez, 41, of Brownsville, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. He was a big fan of NASCAR Racing, his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was an employee at RTW at the Port of Brownsville. Juan was a very hard worker and was liked very much by his co-workers. He is preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe G. Perez; one brother, Domingo Perez; and a son, Alex Perez. He is survived by his wife, Live Gutierrez; one son, Juan Jaime Jr.; daughter, Alexis; stepdaughter, Jeanette Gutierrez; father, Juan Perez; stepmother, Sofia Perez; three brothers, Ismael 'Smiley' Perez of Brownsville, Adrian Perez, Fabian Perez of Michigan; and his only sister, Bladimira Espino of Florida. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. A Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday March 3, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Ismael Perez, Adrian Perez, Fabian Perez, Jose A. Gomez, Andy Jimenez, Ciria Rendon, Martin Espino, and Monica Gonzalez. GLORIA ALICIA SALAS Gloria Alicia Salas, 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Valley Regional Medical Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Hilario Salas Fernandez; a daughter, Guillermina Loera de Leon; two sons, Hilario Salas Jr. and Eric Montero. There will be no local services.
