    3. I will be posting extractions of several news articles and obituaries. Most do not have a newspaper name, many are undated. I am not related to many of these families. L. E. GODFREY L.E. Godfrey, 70, of Brownsville, died Wednesday at Valley Regional Medical Center. Born in San Springs, Okla., he had been a Brownsville resident for 61 years. He was a canal rider for Water District No. 5 for 40 years and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Godfrey of Brownsville; two daughters, Louise O'Neal of Center Point, Texas and Ann Burns of Bownsville (sic); a brother, Lorenzo Godfrey of Tulsa, Okla., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Buena Vista Burial Park with Gerald Elliott officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd.
