You will find John ( Juan) Cross is register in the world war two , in Cameron County, Texas . I have also seen Cross family information in Matamoros civil and cathelic records in Matamoros.. I have the marriage of his brother Middeltion. Mary Esther.
Mary Esther, .. WHERE can you see "Matamoros civil and catholic records"? I have a GG grandparent that surname is LIMBS, given name is Harland. He was married to "Calista RAMOS" according to their sons death certificate. Son was James Harland LIMBS his aka was "Santiago". James was a Methodist Episcopal preacher in California in the 1900's. He was supposedly born in Brownsville. I cannot find anything on his parents nor his birth. There was a Susan Limbs in Cameron Co in the 1870's, with her family she was hoh. She was listed as colored. There are her descendant all over Texas, Arizona and Cal. I have contacted some of them. Our line is not colored but of white and Mexican descent. James married Elena (think her nee was LARA) in Brownsville, maybe? She had a daughter Bessie that had a surname of RUIZ. Bessie, on her death records states her mother's nee was LARA and father was LIMBS (not her true father) ANY help with Matamoros records would be GREATLY appreciated and I am willing to cover the cost of time, coping and postage if need be. Thank you to anyone for help with this fact finding adventure. I would LOVE to find these people while dad is still with us. He never knew his grandparents or great ones. Thanks, Jill in SoCalif
