ALEJANDRO "ALEX" QUINTERO Alejandro Quintero, 59, went into eternal peace on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisca and Alejandro Quintero. Mr. Quintero is survived by his wife, Hortencia Quintero; his son, Alejandro Quintero Jr.; sisters, Paula Ross, Olga Quintero, Yolanda Orozco, and Graciela Cantu; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitations were held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2006 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. A church service will be held at 10 a.m. today Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Sagrada Familia. LAURA BELLE HAYNES SNOW Laura went to her eternal resting place on Friday, February 24, 2006, at Deer Creek Nursing Home in Wimberley, Texas. She had just turned 93. She was born to William Samuel Haynes and Willie Mae Haynes on January 21, 1913, in San Marcos, Texas. She was the youngest of three sisters and four brothers. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Masters Degree in teaching. She taught in the Brownsville School District in the 1930's and 1940's. Laura was married on February 19, 1938 to Johney Henry Snow who preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, Texas. She was a member of the Pan American Round Table, Brownsville Art League, League of Women Voters and an avid bridge player. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Her family loved her very much and will miss her. Laura is survived by her son, Michael Snow and his wife, Dauna Snow of San Marcos, Texas; grand-daughters, Lisa (Tony) Ortiz of Harlingen and Lesley (Chris) Blanks of Katy; three great-grandchildren, Auburn, Gustin and Darren Ortiz of Harlingen; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Tony Ortiz, Chris Blanks, Jackie Schawe, Shane Hibler, David Batilla and Tommy Wof-ford. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Pennington Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Pennington Memorial Chapel in San Marcos. Interment will follow at the San Marcos City Cemetery.
