JACQUELYNN HAMBY COVEY Jacquelynn Hamby Covey of Greenville, Texas, beloved wife, daughter and sister, went to her eternal rest on March 8, 2006, in Brownsville. Jackie had been ill for the past 10 years. We will never forget her beautiful smile and personality. She was born in Brownsville on No-vember 2, 1957. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Hamby; and her grandparents, Shelby Roberts, Lydia C. Roberts and M.P. Hamby. She is survived by her be-loved husband, James Pat-rick Covey of Greenville; her mother, Shirley Worthington of Brownsville; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth A. Hamby of Mount Shasta, California; her stepdaughter, Captain LaShawna Covey, stationed in South Korea; her brother, Michael Hamby of Paris, Michigan; her sister, Rhonda Williams of Brownsville; her stepsister, Gail Worthington of Brownsville; her niece, Shelby Williams of Brownsville; and many cous-ins. Jackie graduated from Hanna High School, the University of Texas at Austin and Southern Methodist School of Law in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Juliana M. Lopez, sisters Maria and Carlota Lopez, brothers Guadalupe Lopez and Librado Lopez Jr. She is survived by her lov-ing husband, Victor Franco Sr.; sons Victor Franco Jr., Arturo, Alfredo and Armando Franco from Brownsville, Texas; daugh-ters Diana (Rene) Hernandez from Clarksville, Indiana and Hilda Franco from Brownsville, Texas; sisters Aurora Lopez and Adelina Gonzalez from Brownsville, Texas; 19 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. ANGELITA ZAMORA ZAMO-RANO Angelita Zamora Zamo-rano, 58, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Valley Regional Medical Center. She was a native and life-long Brownsville resi-dent. Mrs. Zamorano was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Her husband, Manuel Zamorano, preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Rodriguez, Angie Zamorano and Dalia Rocha, all of Brownsville; four sons, Manuel and Mario Zamorano and Rafael and Jesus Ramirez, all of Brownsville; her mother, Rosa Aguilar Zamora, and one brother, Mario Zamora, both of Brownsville; four sisters, Maria Elena Teresa Zamora and Mary Guzman, all of Colorado, and Rosa Zamora of San Antonio; 16 Grandchildren and one great-grandson. CARLOS PEREZ Carlos Perez, 75, of Brownsville passed away Friday March 10, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Cen-ter in Brownsville with his family by his side. He was born in Brownsville, Texas, and lived his childhood years in Ciudad Victoria, Tamps., Mexico. He was an avid fisherman that loved the outdoors and spending time with his fam-ily and friends. Carlos Perez will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Mr. Perez was employed as a meat cutter at Glens, King Mart, Julian's Meat Market and Lopez Super-market. He also worked for the Brownsville school dis-trict for 12 years. He was preceded in death his by parents, Pedro Perez and Julia H. Perez; and a son, Alfonso Perez. He is survived by his wife, Concepcion R. Perez; a son Ricardo (Mary Rosa) Perez of Austin, Texas; his daugh-ters, Maria Esther (Jose Luis) Garcia and Delia (Bal-demar) Benavidez, all of Brownsville, Texas; his grandchildren, Ana Maria Garcia, Emily Longoria, Joseph Garcia, Alexandra Garcia, Rachel Benavidez, Baldemar Benavidez Jr., Alexandar C. Perez, Amanda Rose Perez, Ricky Rose Perez, Christen Rose Perez, Lorie Ann Perez; and a great-grandson, Nathan Lee Lon-goria; his brothers, Homero, Oscar, Cesar, Enrique, Ruben, Jose, Miguel, and Demetrio Perez; and a sister, Teresa Perez Bernal. DIONICIO BER-MUDEZ Dionicio Bermudez, 67, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior at his residence in Brownsville with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 26, 1928, in Sierra Mojada Coahuila, Mexico, to Floren-tino Bermudez and Asencion Carrillo de Bermudez, who preceded him in death. Three sisters, Julia Bermudez, Petra Bermudez, Viviana Bermudez; and one brother, Victorino Bermudez, also preceded him in death. Left to cherish and mourn his death is his loving family, his wife, Juanita Bermudez of 48 years of marriage; five children, Maria Angelica Bermudez, Asencion Guer-rero (Romualdo), Martin Bermudez (Araceli), Yolanda Patricia Castillo (Ignacio) and Raul Bermudez; two brothers, Feliciano Ber-mudez and Pedro Bermudez; two sisters, Juana Arenibos and Alicia Gomez; and 11 grandchildren, and numer-ous other relatives also sur-vive him.
