BOCANEGRA ROCHA, 71, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. Funeral arrangements are pending under Delta Funeral Directors, 1300 E. Harrison St., (956) 542-2222. FRANCISCO R. CANTU Francisco R. Cantu, 78, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Cantu and Juana Rios; and his wife, Carolina Padilla Cantu. Mr. Cantu is survived by his loving daughter, Francis Peña (Juan Peña) of Brownsville; one granddaughter, Maria G. Mascorro (Kiko); and four great-grandchildren, Eduardo, Gerardo, Kiara and Jazlyn Mascorro, all of Brownsville; one brother, Benjamin Cantu of Chicago; and one sister, Paula Teo of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Also surviving Mr. Cantu are numerous nieces, nephew and other relatives. "Grandpa, you left to be with the Lord. But you will stay in our hearts forever. We won't say goodbye but until later. God Bless You. We love you and miss you." Visitations will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m., today Friday, February 17, 2006, at Guerra Chapel of the Holy Family. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 E. Jefferson St. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Juan Peña, Kiko Mascorro, Juan Mendez, Miguel Mendez, Gilberto Flores, Armando Cantu, Juan Cantu and Jose Cantu. CARLOS DE LEON Carlos De Leon, 74 years old, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville, Texas with his loving family by his side. Mr. De Leon was born in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico, on March 10, 1931, to Jose Angel De Leon and Guadalupe Garza De Leon. He was a life-time resident of Brownsville and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. His parents and two grandchildren, Monica De Leon and Javier Carlos De Leon preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family: his wife of 55 years of marriage, Maria M. De Leon; his children, Eduardo De Leon (Sylvia), Ricardo De Leon (Maria), Dimas De Leon (Natalia), Santos Alejandro De Leon (Rosalinda), Carlos De Leon Jr. (Isabel), Jose Angel De Leon (Janie), Lupita De Leon, all of Brownsville and Rosie De Leon and Maria D. Bazaldua (Salvador) of San Antonio; grandchildren Jose Angel, Laura, Jaime, Jesse, Angie, Omar, Erika, Jessica, Melissa, Vanessa, Selina, Salvador Jr., Simon Carlos, Dimas Jr., Veronica, Daniel, Fatima, Carlos Alejandro and Eduardo Jr.; great-grandchildren Xavier, Tony, Rudy, Ashley, Ethan, Briana, Ruben and Anthony. Visitations were held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Guerra Funeral Home Chapel of Arch Angels. Visitations will resume at 9 a.m. with the funeral procession to depart the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. funeral Mass today Friday, February 17, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 1218 E. Jeffeson St., with Father Michael Amess officiating. Interment to follow at Buena Vista Cemetery. Honored to serve as Mr. De Leon's pallbearers are his sons and son-in-law, Eduardo De Leon, Ricardo De Leon, Dimas De Leon, Santos Alejandro De Leon, Carlos De Leon Jr. and Salvador Bazaldua. Honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Medina, Gilberto Resendez, Rafael Garza, Lupe Barrera and Rafael De La Cruz.
