Charles Lindon Mungle, Jr., 54, died suddenly on May 20, 2006 while visiting family and friends in Austin, Texas. Linny was born in El Paso on December 24, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lindon Mungle Sr. and Helen May Mungle. He is survived by four sisters and a brother; Tona Robison (GeneWilliams) of Austin, Sandra Jo (Garry) Lowder of Bayview, Texas, Vicky Luann (James) Mangrum of Mathis, Texas, Roxann (Tim) Quillin of Sandia, Texas and James Robert (Kathy) Mungle of Austin; two nieces, Laurie Ann (Michael) Hilliard of Fort Worth, and Monica Lynn Otero of Bayview; two nephews, James Martin Ward of Amarillo, and Bryan Wesley Sitchler of Austin; great-nephew, Wyatt Hilliard, Fort Worth. Lin graduated from Brownsville High School in 1970 and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving two years during the Vietnam War in Seoul, Korea. After his tour of duty, Lin made his home in La Porte, Texas where he worked at Bayport Machine Inc. as a machinist and then manager. Over the years, Lin became a master machinist and often crafted and fabricated his own parts and accessories for vintage cars, hot rods, and motorcycles. Lin will be remembered for the strong ties he held with his family and friends. All who knew Linny will surely miss his humor, compassion, and wisdom that he shared with those he loved. His family takes great comfort in knowing that although he was taken from us much too soon, that God was ready for him and needed him.
