LYDIA TAPIA Lydia Tapia, 78, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006, at her residence in Brownsville. Ms. Tapia was born in Brownsville and was a life long resident. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include a sister, Olga Tapia of Brownsville; a son, John Cortez of Indianapolis; a nephew, Joe Tapia of Arlington; and a granddaughter, Michelle Narvaez. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening. A funeral Mass will be held at noon today, Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
