She was a native of San Pedro, Coa-huila, Mexico, and a Brownsville resident. There will be no local services. Funeral services will be held at Inhumaciones Escobedo in Matamoros. OBITUARIES GUADALUPE "LUPITA" GARZA PEREZ Guadalupe "Lupita" Garza Perez, 77 years old, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas. Lupita was a loving mother to her sons, Aquileo "Leo" Perez Jr. and David Perez. A devoted and loving grandmother to her beau-tiful granddaughters, Alfia Ann Estrada and Davina Marie Perez. An affectionate and loving great-grandmother to Ethan James Estrada and Jade Alexa Estrada. Her smile and joyful ways will be dearly missed by all who knew her love and whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rojelio Garza and Loretta Guerra Garza, brothers Alejandro and Rojelio Garza and sister Fela Rodriguez. Left to mourn her death and forever cherish her memory is her loving family, sons Aquileo "Leo" Perez Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and David Perez of San Benito; granddaughters Alfia Ann Estrada of San Benito and Davina Marie Perez of Los Fresnos; great-grandchildren Ethan James Estrada and Jade Alexa Estrada; her companion, Luis Flores of San Antonio; brothers Alberto Garza of San Benito, Jose "Pepe" Garza and Manuel Garza, both of Brownsville; sisters Delia Garcia of Tucson, Ariz., Estella Garza of Phoe-nix, Ariz., and Sera Rodriguez of Tecumse, Mich.; and numerous other relatives. MELQUIADES "MEQUE" MUJICA Melquiades "Meque" Mujica, 55, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Cen-ter-Brownsville. Mr. Mujica is survived by his loving family, parents Apolinar Mujica Sr. and Macaria Mujica Valdez; wife Estela Mujica Robledo; son Edgard Mujica (Dora); five grandchildren, Edgard Mujica Jr., Roy Eric Mujica, Priscilla Annette Mujica, Cristian Joel Mujica and Josue Julian Mujica; his brothers and sisters, Jorge (Yolanda) Mujica, Apolinar Jr.(Irma) Mujica, Alicia Garcia (Javier), Josefina Barron (Mario), Sergio (Elisa) Mujica, Jose Luis (Elvira) Mujica and Bertha Mujica; and numerous other relatives. Visitations were held on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Guerra Funeral Home Chapel of the Holy Family. MARTINA GUERRERO Martina Guerrero, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. Mrs. Guerrero was a native of San Fernando, Tamps., Mexico, and had been a resident of Brownsville, Texas for many years. Mrs. Guerrero was preceded in death by a son, Oziel Guerrero. She is survived by her husband, Nicolas Guerrero; two daughters, Eva Guerrero Fuentes and Miriam Guerrero Ramirez; two sons, Nicolas Guerrero and Rodolfo (Rudy) Guerrero; one brother, Leon Reyna; a sister, Guadalupe (Lupita) Gonzalez; 11 grandchil-dren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews; nieces; and other relatives. Visitation and a prayer service were held Wednesday, May 24, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511. MARGARITA CAZARES Margarita Cazares, 42, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. Ms. Cazares is survived by her loving parents, Anita M. Cazares Morales and Pedro P. Cazares; brothers and sisters Frank M. Shawn Cazares of Harlingen, Lupita M. (Steve) Myers of Wisconsin, Anna M. (Erasmo) Peña of San Benito, Joe S. M. Cazares, Gil-bert M. Cazares, both of Houston, Sylvia M. (John) Danek of Wisconsin and Christopher M. Cazares of San Diego, Calif. Among the survivors are four nieces, one nephew and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, May 25, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Fu-neraria Del Angel Buena Vista. A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2006, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. RICHARD STEPHEN RAND Richard Stephen Rand, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2006, at home. Dick was born March 1, 1945, in Weymouth, Mass., the third child of Allen and Dorothy Rand. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1962 and then from Wentworth Institute in Boston with a degree in mechanical design. Dick was a loving husband, father and son, a wonderful papa and a great brother. He worked hard all his life, had a warm smile and kind word for everyone and was ready to help anyone in need. Dick made the world a little bit better every day. His family loves him, misses him and always will. Survivors include his loving wife, Susie (Dorris) Rand; his devoted son, Charles Rand and daughter-in-law, Irene of Atlanta, Ga.; his beautiful granddaughter, Ryan; and 11 siblings, Robert Rand (Linda), Marilyn Rand, Kathleen Burke, Dorothy Rand, Ronald Rand (Berni), Allen Rand, Judith Cristini (Paul), Douglas Rand (Teresa), Russell Rand, Michael Rand (Andrea) and Thomas Rand (Barbara).
